All - I have an 09 Ss and meant to ask this question last time I changed tires. Changing rear IAW manual, I removed the belt guards etc. Noticed that the metal stone guard has holes for three fasteners for attachment to the swingarm, but my bike only has two fasteners (nothing in the middle hole). I can't really tell from the parts manual; somehow I don't have the magic decoder key for understanding the fastener count - I've never come up with the same number looking at the diagrams. Don't think it's a big deal but curious if I should have a third fastener. |

Terrys1980, don't have my parts manual handy but I only have one metal stone guard and it's behind the lower belt guard. It had two fasteners of its own. |

Put a fastener in the open hole and then try to put the outer plastic guard on.... I'm not sure... but I think that should answer your question |

Wolf, good idea. I was working on the "did it fall out" premise; didn't think of the "doesn't belong there" option. |
