so while reading through a different thread, i read that there was no real difference in the stock vs race ECM for the 03 models (i think iamarchangel said it). if theres no real differance between the stock and race ECM's then why even bother making the race ones in the first place? |

Not sure if he meant the physical device, or the data stored in it. The device is the same. The data is not. ECMSpy told me so. |

"Seeing as the ECM just got mentioned, know that the '03 chip is the same for both the stock and the race ECMs. It's the only one like that. No need to buy a race ECM for it. If you do want to upgrade, learn the software and use the race map. Stock is working just fine for me." this is what i read that got me thinking. so is he basically saying that he just took his stock ecm and reprogramed it with ECMSPY to make it run like a race ECM?... |

He could have. That's what I did after my Race ECM took a dump. I replaced mine with a stock one, and it ran ok. When I programmed it with the Race map, it really woke it up. |
