I have an '04 12R and I need at LEAST a new right tube. I figure I'll just swap the whole front end. Will a set of 1125 forks including triple tree work? Did they add rake or trail only? Or both? I'm assuming the forks themselves wont fit a set of '04 triples as they're larger forks, but I also don't want to change the geometry (maybe a tad more rake would be ok so it's not quite as heavy under hard braking). Anyone done it? |

The 1125R trees will not work, due to a difference in the frames. The forks will fit the 43mm XB trees with a little effort. I don't have 41mm ones to try. |

I'm no help on this one, but I am interested to find out the answer! |

What's the difference in the frame? Is it in the length/depth of the steering head or steering lock? Different bearings? I'd like to put 1125 forks on it since I need to replace them anyhow. When you put them in 43mm trees how far out do they stretch the holes? Would one expect that to be safe at maximum brake forces? |

The frame is notched differently. The tree will slide in most of the way no problem, but won't go in all the way due to the bump. Get some XB 47mm or 43mm trees and you will be good to go |

Where exactly is this bump you speak of? Is it the steering angle limiter? Can this "Bump" be machined off? They made 47mm XB trees? Do you know if they retained 21deg rake and 83mm trail or were they changed? Can the 1125 trees/'04 firebolt frame be machined to work together? Maybe I just need to call Erik Buell Racing? |

The Uly (xb12x not xt)has 47mm forks but the rake is 23.5 and the trail is 122mm. The forks also have more travel so and I am unsure of the spring rate but it would likely be different also. |

Guys, do not put 1125 forks into a late model XB set of clamps! Although the tube diameter is the same, the fork spacing is different, and although you may be able to pound them in, you will be bending the forks! If you machine off the lower fork legs you could do it then, but then you have some weird parts. Much better to get 1125 triple clamps. |
