I have a Firebolt i am looking to take the Belt Guards off. Does anyone have any photos of what it looks like with no guards. And how much of a pain is it to take the guards off. |

It's a Lightning, but there are no belt guards. I haven't had any problems as yet.

I took the top guard off a long time ago, and I want to take the lower off but I haven't yet. I'm worried about screwing up my belt. I don't go down dirt roads but there is a lot of gravel in the roads here. Has anyone had an issue with there belt after removing the lower guard? |

My bike came with the top only. I broke a belt recently, but it had 15.5k on it. I have had no problems, as theres no way I would tie the belt failure to rocks or anything, as it happened accelerating out of a turn. I think you will be fine. |

have any of you noticed the belt getting you really wet when you ride in the rain? it seems like the guards would help deflect water from getting on you |

Unfortunatly the water falling out of the sky is what gets you wet when it rains. I don't think belt guards are going to stop that. I just turned 18,000mi today, with my stock belt. |

The belt guards are designs to protect the belt from debris like rocks and such. They come off easy should you want to remove them, just be advised you *may* have a shorter belt life. They do nothing to deflect rain. Running a cheese grater eliminator type tidy tail has been known to increase the amount of dirt and crud being thrown onto the back of the rider. If you remove the belt guards, don't be surprised if your sprockets look like this after a while:
