thank you Andy NO, i have not wired a bike like this. i didn't want brake lights to run all the way across. just on teh center. my turnsignals have added just running lights and went with an XBlights for the 1125 i would also postulate that 2 light bulbs in seires would still burn relatively brightly. at least bright enough still be visible. but in no-way would they be brighter than before. i'll admit that for this reason, using diodes would be favorable. |

Makes sense. I like the theory! I may play around with it just for kicks...even tho I have no desire to integrate anything! |

the OEM (center/brake light) 1157 bulb has a 2.8 ohm and a 0.6 ohm filament. the 0.6 ohm was waaay brighter and instantly felt warm/hot in my hand. then i saw spots for like 3 minutes |

Ok, so after researching this project, and trying to find the mini globe 1157 bulbs in RED-which nobody makes- I decided to go the route that someone else went. I reused the stock base for the bulbs, made another connector for the running light, and tied that wire in with the wire for the running light on my tail light. I tried to make my own red inner lens from some small red lenses that were left behind by a customer, but that looked like fido's a$$, so I opted for the standard size 1157 bulb with red glass. I didn't take any pictures because I was doing something that had already been posted. I do have to say that the red light in the rear really pulls it all together for me, and I am very happy with the results. My boss did suggest that there is a module that can be purchased and wired in, but I told him that it was much less fun than simply doing this my way. I have a huge sense of accomplishment, and am very happy to have the added light in the rear! Thank you for all of your help! |

I had to make my own custom bulbs. Red LED center for brake/tail & (4) 1/2w amber LED's around the outside. You need that 3rd wire to the stalks though but that's not hard to do. Nice to have additional brake lights and the 2 watts of turn signal LED's are intense.

I planned on making a few of these to be available for other BadWebbers but riding season happened! With Winter coming on I will have some time to sit at the workbench. I would need $45 for the pair (the 1/2w ambers cost me $2 a piece) and they take some time to build. You only need to buy them once and the added safety is worth it to me.
