i have and 03 xb9 that just broke 3000 miles. and it hasn't been serviced or anything. i mean i have done my own tuning and stuff but like i was wondering if anyone can tell me what they do at harley because my local ones are dropping like flies. i read about something in the primary that people need to get checked or change im not sure what it is but i would like to get it all cleared up on my bike. thanks in advance.

There's a list in the owners manual.

If you don't have an owners manual they are available at the top of the XBoard.

Step one, read the manuals (Owners and Service specifically). They contain the service intervals and what needs to be checked/changed/adjusted with each service.

The owners manual contains the details on the oil change and some other basic things, but the service manual covers everything.

Once you figure out what you need done, read what the books say about doing it, then ask questions and look for guides and other help on here. Nothing is overly complex, most of the services can be done with basic tools and a drain pan.

+2 on what Froggy said - your own handtools, your garage floor, and a factory service manual will all be your best friends. It's just a motorcycle, not the space shuttle, if you have any mechanical ability and are willing to learn, these bikes are relatively easy to work on. Good luck, now go order yourself the service manual!
