I have fairly new EBC HH pads on but plan to get a new rotor. I literally just installed the pads before a 3 day road trip with my father, it was around 1,000 miles of use. My stock rotor is starting to show some wear and I also question the mounting hardware as it clicks abnormally and one of the spacers is twisted. Makes me question alignment. I am going to get the Erik Buell Racing special mounting hardware and the 5mm finned rotor. Am I being cheap if I don't replace the $60 brake pads or is a light sanding with 100 grit enough to reuse them with good bed in and performance? |

You should be fine with new rotor and old pads, next time try to change at the same time. You should be fine though just give the caliper and pads a chance to reseat themselves on the new rotor. IE: No heavy braking right out of the garage. Erik |
