I was all excited about the prospect of getting my bikes properly tuned (at least for my modest mods) and followed advise to e-mail Erik Buell Racing for ECM's. There was no accurate fit, so I e-mailed tech support with the details...is this the wrong department? I haven't heard anything in over 3 business days. |

>>>I haven't heard anything in over 3 business days. Fairly unusual. But be mindful that you are e-mail a company with 10 employees, not the former 400, and that "Tech Support" may well be on the way to the races and you'll get a reply when they return. Be certain, when you send e-mail, to put a meaningful subject line line "Need Erik Buell Racing ECM Tuning Support" rather than "hey dudes". . . Don't ask.

A shame to have to wait, but how cool to be dealing with a company that is unavailable because most of the staff is tied up racing! |

I can handle the wait, just don't want to wait forever to find I didn't use the correct proceedure. Plus I want to ride this thing!!! Is there a chance they will support my 2000 S3 also? |

By the way . . . don't get me wrong, if you've got a question about it by all means send it to them. But be mindful that the response is of the same nature as if you and I were discussing it. They have no resources (access to engineering or product data) nor legal authority to commit to anything. Erik has historically, in the 22 years I've been riding Buells, got to nearly insane lengths to support Buells and Buell owners. I've delivered brand new bikes to folks to take on vacation while their's were being working on and I've seen many (over 50) Buells that were over 10 years old completely repainted at no cost to the owner. Let's hope Harley-Davidson learned at least one lesson from Buell and continues that level of support. |

We will continue to provide the same great support for S3's that BadWeb has provided for 10 years now. What do you need, we may not be able to do everything, but its been pretty amazing what we have been able to do. |

Thanks for the generous offer, but I betters stick to one at a time! This is the response I just got.. "We do not yet have a specific pre-programmed race ECM for the Spec Ops with valve. The closest we could provide would be the one for the Drummer, which will be better than stock, but not optimized"... Do you guys think I should go for it, or is there a better (and probably more expensive) option?? The bike is embarrasing to ride as is... |

Buellitt- I am working on a 12 pipe that Erik Buell Racing sent me as we speak. As soon as they receive it they are working on a map for it. They said about 30 days after they receive the pipe the map should be done. |

Sounds good Odie, is this an entirely new header, or a muffler similar to my existing one thats being improved? Got to make plans to ride this thing, since I never really have. Also very cool you are so close! Spent a lot o years in and around Rucker. Also - thanks for the postings name change! |

Thanks Js, tech support answered me over the week-end, the answer is 4 remarks above in quotes. Now I'm just deciding what to do with the answer, maybe bypass the interactive valve and go from there(?) Had thought it was a good feature to have until now. |

So now I really have no idea what to do...seems like these are the best choices option 1: disable the valve, reset the tps and try again option 2: dump the spec ops muffler, buy a drummer and the e.b.r. ecm to match (only I don't have a core to send in, so I'd be forced to find a cheapy on e-bay) or option 3: study every post here to get a clue on how to map my own ecm with my existing can. I'm so clueless I don't even know if this still entails buying more equipment and or software. And assuming I can find another rider with my brand of map?? I really want to be riding!! By the way, I have no plans for future engine mods. |
