Ok so I started my bike up this morning and it started just fine. then later on this morning I go to start it and it is doing the clicking mess like it has a dead battery so I took the battery to auto zone so they can test it and the person that works there said the battery is good and it is 96% charged. So my question is why is my bike not wanting to start?

Need more details, like needle sweep, clock reset (too late for that), engine cycle.

Did they a) load test it b) for a Buell?

It would do the needle sweep and it would prime the fuel pump then when I would hit the start button it would go click click click and then I would let go of the button and everything would start over.

i'm not sure if I could trust the people at autozone, try jumping it with another car with the engine running.

if that doesn't work it might be the start motor itself.

is it a fast click or a slow click and where is it coming from (position on the bike, under the seat or elsewere)

i had an old ford minivan that the start motor was starting to go (made clicking sounds) after a few wacks with the hammer it would start again (solenoid relay was sticking in the starter)

Maybe the neutral switch ,pull the clutch and try again
or what Drfudd says ,something with the solenoid relay!

If it's the 'bolt, the clicking will come from the left "fuse" box. That's the relays. They're under the seat on other models.

If it's coming from the lower right side, that's the solenoid.

Check the green wire from under the relay box. It wears against the other wires and needs a bit of tape.

Ok so I just got the battery back from auto zone since they put it on there charger for me and I put it back on and the bike started up just fine. So I am guessing it was not as charged as the lady that tested it said.
