tire says pirelli 180/55/r17 diablo. I cannot find the exact tire - it lasted about 6800 miles to the start of cords. . I am in SOCAL if anyone has a suggestion I'd sure appreciate it! Dunno if it should be a diablo "strada" or another.. Thanks, Chuck | ||

Diablo is a series of tires from Pirilli. They got Diablo Strada, Diablo Corsa, Diablo T, and a bunch of others. What year is your bike? That would determine what tire came on it stock. | ||

He has an '09 Ss. Cbig - It has the Diablo T's on it. $125 at cyclegear.com. Personally I was pretty unhappy with the Diablo T, was happy to replace mine and am now extremely pleased with the pilot road 2's I'm using now. | ||

Hey thanks all - The tire just says Diablo on it . . if it is a Diablo T that helps. I looked up on the web for buell.com and its specifications call for a synch tire. looking at a picture it clearly ain't that. I'd like to try some pilots or conti's but I got about 6800 out of this one, and sad to say, I'm pressing this bike into commuter service along with the Harley. I can use the carpool lanes and save an hr and a half. I think that's what done in this tire. The wear bars on the outside weren't close to used up. | ||

I've gone to using Michelin Pilot Road 2's on my Ss. First got replaced after about 12K miles while still looking pretty good. I just didn't know if it had enough left for about 3,500 miles of riding I had planned for vacation. Second one got replaced with about 14K miles still looking pretty good. Replaced that one for the same reason. If I wasn't doing that kind of long road trip I would have been on them much longer. It's not a cheap tire, but in the long run it's a bargain. Very happy on them running Deal's Gap, etc. on my vacations. The harder compound in the center helps them not wear flat riding around IL. | ||

That's exactly why I got the road 2ct's...during the week I commute to work and being able to ride in the hov lane knocks 10-15 minutes off my trip. Then on weekends I like to go hit the twisty's, and these stick WAY better than the stock diablo's did! Will be very happy if I get more than 10k out of the road 2ct's. | ||

Thats descent mileage for a Diablo. Pirelli still list's the Diablo on their site: http://www.us.pirelli.com/web/tyres-catalog/moto-h ypersport-none/en_US/DIABLO/default.page You could check with Cycle Gear or a couple of other dealers if you are interested in the same tire. Otherwise go with whatever you can get the best deal on. | ||

Bought the 9r with dunlops, hated them. Switched to Conti Road Attacks, really liked them. Got about 3000k (note k) per rear. 3500 to cords. Just got pilot 2 about 1500k ago. No real wear. Sticks like the conti, feels more upright. Going as fast in the corners and no chicken strips but feels like I'm not leaning so far over. Way better in esses. Weird slippy feeling on real low speed corner when cold. Seems more sensitive to highway snakes. I'd get them again. Had to go 2k of gravel road on Friday, better on gravel but I wouldn't push it. | ||

My originals were Dunlops and I've never run Diablos so I can't really compare. I'm pretty much a puss when it's wet so no problems as far as I'm willing to push them. Tar snakes just seem unpredictable with any tire I've used. Sometimes there like grease, sometimes you don't even feel them, always worse when hot though. The feel great on steel bridges and grooved pavement too. | ||

It hasn't rained here for a while (Vegas desert) where I had the opportunity to ride, so no wet experience for me on the road 2ct's yet. Over painted spots in the road the road 2ct's act no different than they did on regular road where my diablo's were slipping regularly unless I really slowed it down and reduced my lean as much as possible.
