Go with the Pit-Bulls. Top quality. Be sure to order the "wide" version for the Buells... I bought mine from the Buell counter at my H-D dealer, and it was the standard width. Pit-Bull was cool enough to ship me out the right one for free, and they even sent Fed-Ex out to pick up my original one when I boxed it back up...

420 you can't just put the front up unless the rear is on a stand. The Pitbulls can be painted if you don't like the gold color. Best set of stands I have ever bought.

IS his stand the type that attaches at the axle or the ones that attach under the steering head? The ones under the steering head are not stable by them selves.

The axle type don't work that well on the XB's due to how the axle setup is. They tend to attach right where the pinchbolts are.

Plus with the Pitbulls you need to buy 2 different stands, 1 for each end.

with the stands that attach at the axles you can use them on either end.

Handy Industries.
http://www.handyindustries.com/webdeals.asp
Cut some of the rear square tubing (1/4" each side)to clear the rear swingarm and shorten the front (can't remember which side) using Home Depot technology.
Good to go!

Handy Industries suck for XB's.The rear is good and you have to mod the front to work but very very unstable.

420 - you can't beat the Pitbull for a front stand. It's the only one I've seen that unloads the front suspension, which is necessary for a variety of work.

I've always just used my swingarm stand and a scissors jack - that's why the damned mufflers have jacking points!

My recommedation of the Handy stands is because Buellers are cheapskates!
My mod to the front stand is stable and sturdy. It would be nice to have the type that lifts the triple tree. I will have to try Darthane's rear stand and muffler jack point method for my fork service.

For the front the Pittbull combination stand is great bang, even for that kind of buck. I have no trouble with the Puttbull front stand that lifts under the forks. Haven't tried it on the XB yet, but can't see it would be any different.

For the rear, I really wish Buell would put spools on the swingarm, as it makes for much more stable lifting - easier too.

And yes, 420, AFAIK no matter what brand, you'll need different stands for front and rear.

I bought Lockhart Philips stands. The rear stand is just the kind that cradles the swingarm and it seems to be good quality and has worked well for me.

The front stand is the kind that lifts the triple tree. It came with several rods for different size holes under the triple tree and none of them fit right, so I use an undersized one. Also, the front stand puts a bit of pressure under the fairing/mounting bracket while lifting so it's best to loosen the fairing first. I hope to get the right size pin for the triple tree and modify the stand somehow so it doesn't touch the fairing.

So, as you can imagine, the LP front stand is a pain right now, so I do what Darthane does with a scissor jack for the front, only I cut a couple 2x8's to cradle the muffler under the jacking points for greater stability. I raise the bike, slide them under then lower the bike onto them.

Mike.
