i orderd a bracket for my left side axil to move my license plate. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CURVED-Hayabusa-license-plate-bracket-GSXR-Yamaha-R1-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem255c259207QQitemZ160459756039QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories I am customizing it to look like this. I really dont care to much about the cuts in the base cause it will be coverd by the plate, the main reason for cutting holes and slits is to remove weight. Every little bit helps.

Cool, post pics when you get it installed. Also, check your local laws regarding the plate mounting, some areas prohibit mounting the plate at any angle other than horizontal. |

Minnesota has new plates on the way made for vertical mounting. Not sure about other states. http://www.abatemn.org/news/new-vertical-plate-law -812010 |

Those are cool vertical plates! The cops in saint Louis where i live dont give a shi t. They are to busy with with real crime. They will be happy that i have a plate that they can see. They dont even like to get out of their cars here, and they dont unless they absolutely have to. |

Sideways plates in Florida will get you a ticket...and a good reason for the officer to look for every other thing he can get you for... |

Ya, Florida sucks for stuff like that. My son lives there and he gets stupid ticket all the time. Them southern states like to screw over its citizens. what ever happend to cops watching over the people all they do is watch the people. Jack ass cops. Go to Florida on vacation come back on probation. |

Its crazy to change the mounting position of your plate and in most cases stupid. Give a cop a reason to stop you and in most cases a cop will give you a ticket every time they stop you. If you mounted the plates on your car either upside down or under the bumpers or on side of your fenders, you are asking for trouble with the cops so why give them a reason to stop you. So why expect any different treatment for a motorcycle. Also most states have laws on the books about altering or changing or hindering visual display of a vehicles plates |

Puss, look i dont need a mommy, if i get a ticket i get a ticket. I just said the cops here dont give a shit! Save this kind of lecture for your kids. Dont you have better thigs to do besides be a hall monitor? Seriously! I see cafe bikes and harleys with them all the time here in my city. When did this start that grown men act like that. If you look at the other post the topic was coverd and did not need a moral debate. |

I have one and have for 3 years now. Its lit and vertical. If I get pulled over its a warning ticket. But to be honest here in Wisconsin I see alot of this.

Didn't seem like a moral debate to me, just fair warning. There are lots of websites out there that will encourage you to do stupid things to your bike just because they know you will do it. I am thankful that this one has some level headed people that are smarter than me and are willing to give sound advice. It's your choice to follow said advice or not. Like Dana said, many do not, and are just fine. |

All im saying is three other people said the same thing do you really think it was nesisary to have a forth person say the same thing? if you want to put in your two cents then get something new to add like which states do and dont allow this type of mod. Consider doing that in the future and instead of comming off like a dork you could be helpfull. |

Brightbuell, The license bracket I had fabricated to what I wanted. Look real close at that light on it. Its actually the light off the end of a XB12S Cheese grater. I'll bet if you ask around here many have cut there graters and may have chucked that light in the garbage. But you may get lucky though. |

so far I have let 5 cops see my license plate bracket, I even pulled in front of one with out using my blinkers do force him to see it and nothing. Nothing at all. i will get pics soon. oh yea, two days after i order the bracket they sent an unmotfied one just like in the pic. i put it on anyway and it looks great, they then say my notes and were going to start making it but they wanted me to pay more and i just didnt think it made that big of a diff so i decided to keep it. jest to lrt everyone know they will gladly to any custom cnc bracket you need if anyone else has the balls to get one or if your state allows it. so i love it, and my girl does to. You can see the rear shock from the back and it looks so so much cleaner and it also looks like the tail is slightly lifted cause I removed the original bracket. |
