With the Erik Buell Racing race ECM ? Is it programmable? Is it the old pro ONLY programmable one that you need specific software to run? I ask because I recently had to swap my regular race ECM out for the stock one n my bike is runnin kinda assish when it gets hot. (Stock ECM D&D pipe K&N filter) Gets alot of popping on decel so bad so that it does it when just shifting gears once it's hot. | ||

I believe Erik Buell Racing may have a plug-n-play ecm that's tuned for the D&D. Yes, it's a EEPROM unit just like the others and is programmable with ECMRead and possibly ECMspy for the pre 08's. I've made a minor change to my Drummer-Tuned '08 unit. | ||

I dloaded ECMspy but don't have the cable n my laptop has recently decided to take a sh** so I wouldn't want to do any actual tuning if I didn't have to, My bike is an 03 n runs like a raped ape at WFO but around town and even a little above in town speeds you can tell it doesn't like it. Its just a pre tuned ecm. Quite possabley a well pre-tuned ecm. I think the word "race" is a little miss leading. No one would ever use one to race, would they? I believe a real race bike would be tuned for every race. It is a Erik Buell Racing ECM. Not a Race ECM. | ||

I'll have to look into what they got for an 03 9r with D&D / K&N setup I guess. | ||

brightbuell is part right in that the pretuned ones would probably not be used for racing but for $750 you can get the ecm with the soft ware and cable to were it is a full on race ecm. | ||

i just did the ecmspy map swap with a buddy and the first day the popping stopped for the most part. Day two it seams to be back, i dont get it. i was smiling for ten miles right after I did it. I was so happy the popping was gone. Day two i went for a shot ride and it was popping as i stopped at my garage i dropped my bike for the first time, so i have not been able to do any more work cause i broke my peg and im waiting for it to come. | ||

I stand to be corrected here, but I believe the word "Race Only" has to be put on it cause it is not tuned to the EPA specs for the new bikes. They have to be sold as "Race use Only" to be legal to sell. |
