so im somebody who falls under the lazy category, and when i got my 9r it had a dent in the side of the tank, i've been bondo'ing it slowly this summer (just adding some whenever i find time or am bored) anyway its pretty much filled out, yet the pucks not fitting perfectly snug like the other one does, will i have any problem with the puck staying attached if its more or less contacted on all its surface? and second is there a better glue choice rather than the small tubes of adhiesive that came with the pucks?

thanks in advance!

If you want to put them on there and not worry about it coming off get yourself some 2-part 5 minute epoxy.

When I got my pucks they had double sided adhesive tape. There were tubes of something to clean the frame with prior to sticking on the pucks.

I would try the standard attachment method before going to an alternate. As Terrys1980 suggested you could go with an epoxy, but I would be worried that the epoxy may not bond well with the plastic of the pucks. Some plastics are difficult with epoxy. It would pretty much have to be sanded off the frame though. Some sort of construction adhesive would probably work as another permanent solution.

A better solution is to figure out why its not fitting and fix that problem before putting the pucks on. I tend to be a bit anal with body and paint work though.

If you clean both mating surfaces with TriMethel-Ethyl-Keytone, then spray both with 3M tape primer, it will not come off. Warning: Once they touch they are stuck, no second chance. I don't know it the TMEK will dissolve the tape primer. It will wash the ink off of a dollar bill and it is on a controlled substance list.

do not use methyl ethyl ketone( MEK) ever for anything( dont bring it into your home),its outright dangerous, acetone does the job, and the only danger is possible dry skin, and its very flamable. If ever you need the cleaning power of MEK, find some Ensolve on the web, will do all MEK will do, without any danger, and wont burn, or hurt anything. Acetone is cheap, and works real well, I used to work in a place that had it in an eye wash, for emergency, glad we never had to use it, hehe.

Acetone in an eye wash would be VERY bad! Never seen anything other than saline and mild boric acid in the eye washes where I've been.

I was the Chem Tech for the company, had to keep track of usage, shipping, storage, and labeling of chemicals, and waste. The eye wash was in a enclosed fiber optic work cell, they used a plastic liquid, to cover components, it dried hard and fast, and stuck to anything, even oily, or wet with water, there were goggles at the door, on a rack, the only hope for anyone getting a splash in the eye, was a 15 minute eye wash in acetone, in the time it took to get to the hospital, the plastic would not be removeable, by any means, they had documentation that a person would have working vision, if a 15 minute wash in acetone was used very quickly, no one ever went in there, and forgot to put on the goggles, as I labeled the wash in the corner "Acetone Eye Wash, for emergency only", one guy got a good splash on his arm once, it went in his lab coat sleeve, it was very bad. Sorry I got so far off the subject, I really hate to see anyone go near MEK, its such a bad substance, and you cant tell, it doesn't burn or hurt when you get some on you. Acetone, other than being very flamable, is not bad to be around at all, and really cleans quite well
