I've been looking for a better seat for this thing. I want to sit further away from the tank and be rid of the hump in the Scg seat. I checked Corbin's site but they don't list anything specifically for the Scg model. What are my options? |

There is problably not going to be anything for the SCG or SL that will not add some height. However All of the lightning seats will fit it except the ones made for the SS and STT |

There is a seat company that can do something custom for you if you want to go that rought. I think they are called baldwin or something like that. |

I had Baldwin redo my SCG seat. Inserted a gel piece and took a little off the edges. Height is exactly as before but the gel insert is much better on the long haul. I did roughly 800 miles a couple weekends ago and my butt was sore but not like it would have been on a stock SCG seat!! I like it! |

I am 6'1" so the taller seat with m ore cushion will do me good. I like the low-ness of this bike but the seat is absolutely killing me. I think that Skyline seat looks like it'd be much better. |

it's quite a bit taller than a normal xbs seat. it almost feels like i'm riding a different bike when i switch mine out sometimes. |

@Joel9 How comfy is the skyline seat? I also have a 2009 XB12Scg and I'm looking to upgrade my seat. Thanks, Nick |

I've had a few seatsa heres my take scg seat, low but no cushion at all.. select seat, a little taller but more cushion and comforatable except it pushes you forward to much on the boy parts sport seat, I really like sits back a little more than the others more cushion than the low seat. I just got a regular seat in a box of parts I bought but haven't tryed it. all of the above options are cheaper than the Corbin. But I sat on ezblast blast with a corbin and it sure did feel comfy.. |

the taller skyline seat is real comfy. i use it for longer rides. it's easier to move around on. also it's taller so it gives you more leg room. i frequently switch my skyline seat for my select seat just for something different. also note that the "skyline" seat has 2 part numbers. in the pic. i posted earlier the taller seat is #N0025.1AJYW and the other shorter one is #M0090.1AC. they both are called "skyline" seats. keep this in mind if you order one. I just posted this in another seat thread. Check out Kontour Seats. I have used them twice now and they work as advertised. I have one on my '09 Scg and one on my HD Street Rod. I just rode the Street Rod to a rally 3 hrs away and had no problems with the seat. Before I sent the seat to Kontour I could only ride for 30 minutes! Love it on my Scg too! There's a seat review on webbikeworld.com using a Ducati. The review is accurate. Check it out at least. It's not cheap but it does work! (Message edited by dancing_dogs on June 30, 2010) |
