OK so I've been lurking around the internet doing the normal search engine stuff under "Buell" "Buell forums" Buell boards" ect. ect. And so far I think I like this place the best. I asked about buying a Buell and what to look for over on Buellxb before I found this site, and I think I got some good information but it just didn't seem to be everything I was looking for. (Does that make sense?) I think I got general information and not "Hey this is a brother hood of unique bike owners, welcome aboard!" So with all that being rattled out of my head I say hi. I'm not new to bikes, just new to Buell. |

Eh I know I'll have to spot the jokers out on my own, but hey that's what makes us all different. Now can someone tell me if you can strip the paint off the outer edge of the rims to polish em out? I bought an 05 xb9sx with the black rims (not sure if the blue rims were an option that year?) Or do I put the blue rim tape around it to break it up a little? |

Cell phone pic is all I have right now. The screen name.....my initials are D.R. when I made my first email acct. it asked for first initial and last name. I didn't want to put my last name in so I put what kind of bike I was riding and it's just stuck for many years.

Just about everything on your bike, including the lip of the rim can be polished. It does look nice on the black rims. Blue rims were introduced for the 2008 model year. |

Not to mention... that's a lot of bike for the price!!! Timing is everything. Now all you have to do is go out and find some twisty roads to enjoy in the Heartland. (Good luck with that one!) And Welcome aboard! |

under that powder coat, there are already polished lips. you just have to figure out how to get the powder coat off of just the lip without damaging the powdercoat on the rest of the rim... in other words, if you stripped all the powdercoating off youd have something that "resembles" the stardust silver wheels. |

for the muffler are we talking a stock pipe or after market? if it is after market then yes it will if not then it will fit but your bike will not be able to control the valve that is in side of the pipe. |

I had the previous owner of my bike lower the price because he had removed the stickers and reflectors. It reduces safety and the originality of the bike. |

I was going to use it try and modify it myself. I want to keep the stock one in case something doesn't go right I could always go back to stock. I had the previous owner of my bike lower the price because he had removed the stickers and reflectors. It reduces safety and the originality of the bike. They actually dropped the price because of that? |

well if you are modding it then I would suggest getting rid of the valve in side then you will have no issues. |

Those stickers look stupid. Its like the stickers on a pair or sunglasses. Dude not every one here feels the same about everything. There are some anal and old school fear of change, idealogists. dont lose your open mind and also check out buellxb.com. Its good to have a couple places to explore and find ideas-parts-stories etc. welcome! |

I agree with brightbuell, I flipflop from here to buellxb.com as well some times I can find the answer for something here and sometimes I find it there but either way I usually find the answer on one of the 2 sites. |

I love the solid black. I would keep them just the way they are. The pinstriping is getting old, and so is the beauty rims. Im telling you they look sick the way they are. |
