I have been considering swapping a xbr rear onto my bike for a while. I would like to do it over the summer. What else would I need to do besides get the rear subframe and plastic? |

That helps a little, but I was wondering what the assembly from s to r entails. |

You'll need the seat lock assembly from the XBR, since it's a longer reach than the XBS; you'll use your own lock. You'll need all the bolts to hold the seat in place. You'll need the undertail plastic tray for an XBR, which you'll need to cut a hole in on the left side for your wiring harness to pass through. You'll need to fabricate a bracket to hold your rear brake reservoir (or you can be ghetto and just secure it with a couple zipties like I did). You'll need a couple zipties to hold some of the electronics in place (in particular, the sensor that detects whether the bike is upright or not and cuts the power). You'll have to get some spare wiring to lengthen the wires to your brake lights and rear turnsignals. All in all, it's not that hard a swap. The biggest PITA was twisting the ECM and fusebox around so they would fit okay. IIRC, I had to separate some of the wiring and sort of turn it upside down to make it fit right. FWIW, I thought it looked awesome, but wasn't as comfortable, so I changed it back a few weeks later.
