My 12R has been running like a bat out of hell the past few months. The front tire lifts much easier than last year. The bike has 14,000 miles on it now and feels like it has broken in well, but the performance was still baffling me. I was talking to my girlfriend about how much faster the bike felt and she said "It should be faster, you lost 25 pounds." Holy cow, I didn't even think of that. I have dropped from 213 to 188 this year. It all makes perfect sense now. For the life of me, I don't know why that didn't occur to me. Get to the gym people, the ride is much better. |

I dropped from 235 to 185. It is very noticeable! |

I'm going with the theory that my 230lbs is actually HELPING my power wheelies by placing more weight up high..... haha we all have excuses |

I suppose it's where the weight is, or isn't then...... |

So if you could get your 12R to 420 wet AND lose weight you could scare some 600's...lol good job on the weight loss man, I am 206 with 190 as my realistic goal. |

after I got injured I put on some significant weight partly because I couldn't exercise anymore and partly because I used it as an exuse well the excuses are over, I got a bowflex cheep on craigslist a few weeks ago and I am using it every other night now. I hope to get back down to 165 from the 260 I peaked at, I am already down to 245, now I just need to keep going... |

Nice! Piotr lost 50 lbs in 6 months, and I lost 15 in 3 (192-177). I'm starting to bulk up again, but not fat . |

Delta one, I feel you there. I broke and dislocated my elbow on the first of the year. That is when I really put on the weight. My cousin asked "What happened to you? You used to be buff and now your pudgy." That was it for me. I got back in the gym and the weight started falling off. Good luck on your goal. George |

Good for you! It is amazing how people are willing to drop thousands on mods here when dropping a few pounds would accomplish the same thing for free, AND improve the handling! |

Loosing 5lbs fat is way cheaper than some new CF pieces. |

I am trying to drop 5lb from 165 down to 160. Well, going to gym every day, swimming, spinning, cutting most (yes ... most ... sometime you cannot say no ... herrr) of the junk food but I am still there ... 162-163lb. I have been practicing sport since I was a baby but in the last 3 or 4 years I just sat down on the sofa. I started again this winter and I am feeling again much much better: it keeps you healthy and strong. even if you do not drop a pound. |

I severely dislocated my shoulder and my patella and over three different knee injuries I have done damage to my lcl, mcl, pcl, and patellar tendon. I was also told that I wore down sections of my bones that help keep my patella in place doc said I wouldn't walk without a cane after doing that all that to my knee I went from super physically active to having trouble making it down the hall in no time. (soccer rugby martial arts cycling and falling down a lot on roller blades were my favorite activities) last summer I felt great and started playing soccer again and lost 40 lbs (down to 200) until I pushed too hard and broke my knee again went from 200 to 260 after that. my plan as always is to take it easy this time and not get hurt again. lets see if I can manage that this time |

I have no room to make this mod. At 6'1" and 160-165 I'm already bean pole(ish). |

An old dragracer I once knew told me the easiest and cheapest way to shave 100ths and even 10ths was to "stop with the effin' cheeseburgers". Something tells me that even with the weight loss and better performance gained by it we will all keep spending the $ on our bikes. |

what can I say, its an addiction but I hear that admitting it is the first step, not that I WANT to recover |

In my younger years I did a lot of street racing...mainly riding bikes for people. At that time I weighed around 110...today I am at a portly 136... Today I am 3 tenths quicker on my buddy's dragbike than he is...he weighs 195. Weight matters a lot. |

I've weighed 125 with my duds on since junior high. I think I better just keep saving for a big bore kit. Unless I start selling off organs. 1 lb = 1 HP hmmm. Daughter in law is in med school. |

I know what you mean. I was 244lbs in January and am down to 206lbs right now. It definitely felt like the bike gained power while sitting over the winter. Hopefully 16 more lbs will make it seem even faster. |
