K&W carb and choke spray cleaner on a long cotton swab is what I use. Use one hand to hold the throttle open and the other to wipe off the black ring. On the 08 and up engines, make sure to clean out the idle air hole too, and if your bike has a fuel evaporation canister blow through the fuel canister and the line coming to the carb from the canister. Its so dirty in my area I added a small oiled K&N filter to the air inlet of the canister. husky |

I use lacquer thinner on swabs on the bike. I use the same thing off the bike and soak it and scrub with a plastic brush. The thinner evaporates fast and works best. we have been using this for years on carbs and intakes of all types before rebuilding. off the bike mr clean works wonders as well when soaked for a while. |

Yeah I used the gumout cleaner, then took a paper towel, wrapped it around the handle end of a screwdriver and scrubbed that sucker up. Worked like a champ! |
