not sure where to put this so i will put it here since i have a uly xt.
i fussed and fought, bought jacks etc all to be able to turn my bike around inside the garage and in tight patio spaces.
recently occured to me; i put the rear wheel on top of a ten gallon plastic paint pail lid, you know the lid thats about 15 inch diameter.
on that i can slide the beast around to my hearts content and not damage anything. cheap trick

OR...

Standing on the kick stand side: grab the tail section, pull the bars toward you, lean the bike towards you on the kick stand and spin.

Firebolts idea works but it puts a lot of stress on the kickstand bolts and mounting points.

Webe had his snap on him a few weeks ago.

i would do the kickstand technique in emergencies but i definitely wouldnt trust it as an everyday method of turning the bike around

I just back out. I honestly can't think of a scenario where turning it around would be easier!

Yeah...definitely not an everyday deal. I've done it MAYBE a hand full of times.

Thats a great idea, the paint lid thing. It's like a giant version of those "Moving Men" things they sold on TV...the furniture coasters. Good idea!!

What Jandj said -

They've been around a few years in both light and heavy duty versions from various sources.

I used to spin my cbr's by the sidestand every day and that NEVER harmed those bikes. Did it for the first few months of having the lightning and snapped one of the 2 bolts in less than a month. I had the harley techs fix it under warranty and haven't done it since.

I spin mine on the kickstand almost everyday. Never had a problem. (knock on wood)
