You had told everyone how to reset something on their buells using the throttle by opening and closing it etc. Can you help me please by explaining this again. I have an 09 firebolt. |

For 2008 and later Buell twins TPS reset is built-in and very simple.
Buell TPS Reset/Rezero Procedure for 2008 & later Buell XBikes and 1125R/CR motorcycles: The Buell TPS reset for 2008, 2009, or 2010 Buell twins is simple but requires that you precisely perform the following procedure, step-by-step, exactly as described: 0. Begin with the the ignition off, key out, and the run/stop switch in the "stop/off" position. 1. Switch the Run/Stop switch to the "Run" position. 2. Insert ingition key and turn it to the "on" position. Do not start or turn over the engine. 3. Rotate the throttle grip from the closed throttle position to the wide open throttle position hold for one second then rotate back to closed position and hold for one second. Repeat that exact throttle action two more times (three total open/hold-closed/hold cycles) holding the throttle grip gently against each stop for one full second. 4. Cycle the key off and back on. You've just completed a TPS reset for your 2008 or later Buell motorcycle. Start your bike and ride. |

You must own an 1125 then, try that on a XB and you just make a lot of noise. |

My XB likes to look at the sky sometimes. Ya know, theres a reason I don't take an 1125 in any form for a test ride. My credit would be maxed, and she would be PISSSSSED! Love my XB, and will get an 1125 when I can afford to keep the XB also. |

Thank you Froggy. Does the dash do anything to let you know if your doing it right? Like beeping or lights flashing etc? |

If you have an 1125 you can read the TPS voltages from the dashboard to confirm, but the XB's are too stupid, you would need ECMspy to confirm. |

One more question Froggy, will it up my bike if I do a TPS reset if I have and after market Voodoo exhaust and intake mod. I dont have a race ECM. My bike runs good but not great. It really needs to be smoothed out. Whats your advice? |

Thankfully, with the DDFI3 bikes a TPS reset cannot make things worse as it isn't like the old bikes where you could set it incorrectly. TPS resets are not required unless you are swapping ECMs, changes to the exhaust will not affect it. The TPS reset really only needs to be done if you are troubleshooting a running issue, but it is quick and easy to do so you can reset it as you desire. For your running issues I recommend you either remap your stock ECM or get a Race ECM from Erik Buell Racing. A TPS reset cannot fix it unless your TPS value was way off. |

Actually I put 1500 miles on mine since getting it back to road worthy about a month ago, and my 1125's haven't moved an inch in 3 weeks. I have been doing nothing but the XB and Blast. I am saving the rubber on my 1125R for the homecoming trip. |
