It's time for my first 1000 mile fluid change and I am thinking about Motul brand tranny oil. It's supposed to be the cats meow. My local sportbike shop is pushing it heavily, but they specialize in Japanese bikes, not the (mighty) v-twin ..... Anyone else running this stuff ? If so, what weight and exact type are you using ? Any help would be appreciated. (They want 60.00 a gallon. Is it made of liquid gold ?)} |

I just use the HD stuff. I read bad stories about using anything else. Search this site. |

What bad stories? I use mobil 1 syn and have had no problems. It seemed to shift better as well. You can't use the gear stuff. It's the 20/50 v-twin syn. I only heard of problems in using the gear stuff. |

+1 Formula +. The bike only takes a quart, and it's less expensive than Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w50. Any improvements in shift quality, cannot be measured, therefore I consider it, to be placebo. Availability is the only reason I'd use something else. |

I'm using Mobil 1 as my motor oil. But I think I'll stick with HD stuff for the primary. 46,000 (s)mile's on my '06 and she still shifts great. Just not clutchless!! |
