OK, so I'm looking for some larger diameter grips for my 9R, the stock ones are just too small. Not real fond of the traction grip shape, so what else is out there? Rubber is fine, never had a gel grip and not sure that I care to start now. |

There is a thing called "grip puppies", they are foam covers for your existing grips. I like them, some folks don't, but they only cost $9.90 shipped, so you might give them a try. In addition to making the grip bigger, they do absorb some vibration. Just google "Grip Puppies". They won't bite:-) |

I'm thinking or wrapping the grips with tape for a little while. I spent some time today looking at grips, and not a single one listed the outside diameter. How The F... do they expect you to get something that you might like? I think it's a conspiracy to piss me off. (Message edited by Greg_E on May 21, 2010) |

Greg, Grip puppies @California Sport Touring. I just put a set on My XT. It takes about two minutes with soapy water. They do absorb a lot of vibration! |

You might try a Bicycle Shop or Wally world. They make some really long black foam grip kits that are meant to be used on like the rams-horn bars of the old english racer bicycles. Seen the same used to pad more than the grip area of mountain bike bars. They're made for 7/8" bars but the foam will stretch enough to easily slide over the larger diameter of your throttle tube (once the regular grip is removed). Much larger O.D. than regular M/C grips. Just cut 'em to length. They do a good job of damping vibration too. |

Don't care about heated, just larger diameter that isn't all sloppy like foam grips. Any idea what those grips are? |

No skulls, no letters, just a plain rubber grip is all I want. I think the tractions would bother me a lot because of the bulbous shape in the middle. Maybe if I find a pair cheap enough I'll try them. |
