Check where the wiring harness goes around the negative battery connection...it might have rubbed thru the wires and is shorting to ground...happened to me. |

2006 bikes had an issue of the pump body inside the tank rubbing through, right? |

took the bike in to the local dealer and got it back sat. said the couldn't find anything...tested it and said it worked fine. took it for a ride yesterday....went about 30 mi and it happened again. put in a new fuse and got back home, loaded it up and took it back to the shop. told them what fast said, but, apparently that isn't the problem. any more ideas? It is an '09 ss in hero blue. really like the bike, but need to get it fixed. every time has been at idle or just pulling away from a stop. |

My 2009 XB9SX blew 3 fuel pump fuses last summer, all on hot days, twice at idle, always at low fuel levels. I started fueling sooner on hot days and I put on the large RSS this winter. I hope it doesn't happen any more. |

dealer just called me back today and said they had traced it to the ecu. they said there could still be a wire problem, but hope the ecu fixes it. may take 7+ days to get it in. will see then. |

Darn, my '09 Hero blue City X blew another one. Warmish day, semi low fuel level in tank, 49 1/2 miles of a 50 mile freeway drive done and the fuel pump fuse went. I guess the RSS didn't cure the issue. It always happens with a warmish engine and low fuel condition. I don't want to give it up to a dealer during prime riding season, but I fear they won't be able to find the problem if I wait for winter. I have 7 months of warranty left. |

Wow, just yesterday (about 106 degrees and getting low on fuel) my '09 12ss died on me at about 45-50mph, fuel pump fuse blown, put the spare in but still would not start. Had the ebr race ecm in, swapped it to the stock ecm and it started and ran just fine. Really hoping it doesn't happen again today, I don't have any more spares on me! |

Coming back from Myrtle Beach on 501 heavy traffic nice hot day my 09 XB12XT dies... Fuel Pump Fuse, replaced it with the spare made it back home. Wondering if it was the heat, hope the comfort kit I ordered, keeps the heat off of the fusebox it gets hot! Oh and I had around half a tank of fuel. Maybe I should put one of those self resetting fuses on it |
