k, so I was changing the plugs, front, when I pulled to hard on the plug cable and it popped right out. Im guessin its a pain in the ass to put this back in. So far Ive taken the top off down to the air box base and still cant see where it goes. Do I need to take the base off too? If so does it come right out or are there a bunch of lines under it that need to be tied off first?

Here's a couple of pics that might help you to understand the location/orientation. Notice the hole in the frame to get your orientation of the pic.

Just as easy to take it off No big deal, and get that sucker out of your way... 4 screws, two vent Hoses, and un do the IAT plug under, and slip the base plate out around the rubber air intake scoop ... (Message edited by hogs on May 18, 2010) (Message edited by hogs on May 18, 2010) |

make sure to stuff a rag into the trumpet while youre working with the airbox cover off to keep stuff from falling in there. believe me it will save you a lot of hassle one day. just dont forget to pull it out when youre done. |

hah, thanks chessm, you should of reminded me to put the filter back in to. Good walkthrough Hogs, anyone looking to do the same thing, just so you know, you dont need to disconnect the two breather hoses and IAT sensor from the base, just lift up on the front portion of the base, slip the trumpet through and swing it back towards the back as far as you can go then wedge something under it to hold it there with out putting too much stress on the hoses, will give you lots of space to wedge the cable back on... |
