Took a test ride on an XB12R last night at Sheltons. Ever since I bought my 9S, in the back of my head that little voice had been saying,"Maybe an 'R' would have been neater".

Since they were giving test rides and giving the cool back pack away for doing so, I pestered Dave Clark to let me try a 12R.

I'm very happy I have what I have. I was very impressed with the added torque that the 12 puts out, but the rider position for my middle-aged round squat tail is just too extreme. The only time the bike felt comfortable was when I was hanging off the side of it in the corners. Other than that it was agony for me. I guess that's why they built the "S" and I thank them for it. As I have said before, I LOVE MY BIKE!.

In the end, I had some fun, and they gave me something for just trying it, and that's cool! What was even better is that the free "Streetfighter" T shirt showed up in the mail the same day.

Thanks Buell!: )

Aydenxb9,
I also demo'd the XB12R this weekend. I have a 2001 S3 so this is a totally diff. animal. I really enjoyed everything but my riding position. I'm just to big around mid section for it. At every dealer I go to I ask what they think the diff. is between the the 9 and 12. Nobodys really been able to give me an answer. Thanx for posting your feel on the two. If I move away from my Thunderbolt, it'll be a 12S. When I got back from the demo. My wife was waiting outside the dealership with her helment. Off she went with the 12. She rides a wide glide, so this was a lot diff. for her. When she got back the guy said she did real good. I jok'nly asked if she did better than me....he didn't answer! oh, oh!
Now she wants one too! Looks like we both may get one and then I'll challenge her. LOL (she'll probally kick my .

I took a ride, but didn't get any bag, looks like I'll have to take another ride at a different dealer to get my bag.

Boulderbiker,
If you go to the Buell website, it will tell you which dealers are offering the sling bags. It looks like 3 in Colo.

Check the web site, then call the dealerships first. Unless you just want to go for a ride anyway.
