OK, for those of you that don't know, my fully factory race kitted Australian XB12S has been having problems as follows... 1. Pinging 2. Hanging around 2,000rpm instead of idle 3. Running like a dog when cool (it never really gets cold here) 4. Surge or stutter when cruising at constant speeds. Number 3 was fixed with replacement of faulty temp sensor. Other faulty components were leaky intake seal and O2 sensor. Timing has been set and re-set, as has TPS. So, Morgan and Wacker (Aust.) have sent the data from my bike to the states... Buell have passed info on to York, where the information will hopefully be analised and a result passed to my mechanic so the problem can be rectified. Anyone interested in the progress of this, please feel free to MSG me with your e-mail address and I will pass info on as I get it... Also, anyone with similar symptoms, please send me a breif description with the configuration of you model, air cleaner, snorkel and muffler. I will use this info only to form an overview of this type of problem... I am getting the impression it mostly lies with the 12's... Brad |
