ok this only happened twice but it was when it was really hot out and the bike was really hot. i was riding around and then the fan would kick on while im riding, and so then i pulled over and let it run until it stopped and started the bike and it was fine for a while until yesterday it did it again while i was riding. its not consistent but i just want to know if thats normal or not?? |

Migs16...the control system senses the rear cylinder temperature...turns on the fan as needed to help keep it cool....adding a right side scoop will help cool the engine and slightly reduce the heat you feel from the bike. |

It has been fairly warm for some time here in the Lone Star State. Fan has been coming on regularly while riding. Recently installed a scoop on the Scg and a scoop/comfort kit on the Uly. Since the installs, neither fan has come on while riding. At shut down the fans run for a short time or not at all. Rider felt heat has thankfully been reduced. |

Uly scoop update. Just finished a spirited ride on a 85 degree afternoon. Fan came on at low gear low speed, off at idle, on at shut down for a couple of minutes. The cooling fan is running less than without the scoop kit but does indeed run when needed. |

Loud Fans Save Lives!!! I tell the curious the sound is from the supercharger cooling down....or its the moaning from the Yamaha that is wedged in the air scoop... (Message edited by fast1075 on May 14, 2010) |

Migs16, Yes you can purchase a RSS at American Sport Bike. That's where I got mine from. They are not a bolt on part but it doesn't take much to install one.I am totally happy with mine. Best of luck,Lesley |

That should read that they ARE a bolt on part and the one from American Sport Bike comes with all the screws needed to assemble the two pieces. You can call it a kit if you like. Not sure about the CF versions but I bet they are bolt on and complete. |

I didn't get shit with mine from American Sport Bike.Only the box it came in.No instructions and no fasteners.$240.00 But to be fair it does work quite well at keeping the engine temp cooler.Amd my XB doesn't look lopsided any longer. I can't imagine putting more scoops on the Austrian(1125) Buells.I mean my God how much larger could you buy one? |
