Well....if you don't consider removing the housing for all of the wiring, headlights, turn signals, horn, gauges etc, and fabricating up a new mount for the new one a major mod then I guess your answer is yes! (Message edited by andymnelson on May 13, 2010) |

Cant all of the wiring be reused? In that case its just fabricating a suitable mount? |

If you can fabricate the mount, the wiring should be plenty adequate. If you want to be on the safe side use the factory wiring to control a relay that will turn on the headlights. |

yeah I didn't really mean that as some huge negative. You can re use all that stuff but withh have to fab the mount and the gauge mount as well. Also keep in mind the CR has turn signal in the mirrors, so there are currently no provisions for them in the headlight housing. my point was that I would consider it a major modification! but very do-able! |

Couldn't you buy one of those streetfighter fairings with headlight already built in? Don't think I can post the link but google it. |

Next stop, to find a 2nd hand cr headlight??? Good luck with that. I've been looking for several months now. Don't sweat the mod though, if you're handy, it won't be too difficult. When No_rice was over I took a good look at his CR, and it looked to be a pretty straight forward deal. Looks as though the main time consumer would be taking the S stuff off the bike. There's tons of room behind the CR screen, way more than the XB. A little drilling and tapping, maybe a little fabbed bracket, and you'll be good to go. I've got a PhotoChop picture on the other computer, when I find it I'll post it up. Rotorhead already put one on his Uly. |

I'd love to see someone do this, because I too, have thought about it. I agree with Glitch, I think he's right on the money. The only fly in the ointment could be the cluster. The shape of the XB and 1125 clusters is different, so you'll either have to make an adapter plate or get really creative with make the 1125 cluster work. Either way, I support this project! |

Rotorhead did it to his Uly. Looks just as badass in real life. I'm seriously considering turning my wrecked 'Bolt into an XB12CR. And here's another one- I forget who did it, but that's a Baja Designs death-ray. Anyone else got knowledge or pics? I think if I wanted to resurrect my R as a CR, the hardest part would be changing to an S harness. I wouldn't even bother with the cluster, just some frenched-in LED noids and a Garmin. |

The Uly looks pissed off. I like it, but it still has the factory frame stickers on it??? |
