Do Ss have different subframes than Rs? I am looking to do swap my R into an S, and do not know how much I am biting off. Luckily my girlfriend flipped her Scg, so I know all about the differences in front of the forks, but the tail section is new to me. I know that the tray is different, but that is about it. On my bike I have had it down to the frame, but she doesn't let me touch her bike. So, has anyone done a tail swap that wants to share their knowledge? (also, if you have an S and want an R, let me know) |

Afinley, I can't quite remember what all is involved off the top of my head (it's not a WHOLE lot), but I know for a fact that others here will be able to chime in and help as it has been done many times before. My main reason for posting tho is because I happen to have an S tail and wouldn't mind swithching over to an R... |

Do go on I found a little bit more on here, and my main question was if the metal subframe needed to get swapped, and the answer is yes |

Afinley: The subframe needs to be swapped out for sure. I started to do the swap on my lightning and did not want to start moving electronics and brake fluid reservoirs. A firebolt to a lightning should be a little bit easier. You will just have more room under the seat for storage. good luck |

Kustomklassix: If you are still looking for a subframe and tail section for an R, I have one that I am willing to part with. |

IF you have an SS the frame is different than the R. The subframe will fit if you have a torch, a great sense of fabrication and patience. Basically the mounting holes are about a 1/2 in off, wider and further apart. Then you get to have fun re routing all the wires. |

if i can't find a trade for a cr, i'll definitely think about swapping out to a lighting. couldn't do 150 on the r the other day but was able to do 600 on the scg bringing it back from nashville. |

Yeah it is hard to fit everything into the R tail when switching from the S I would guess that the R to S would be easier because there is less in the R tail than the S |
