Hello everyone, New to the site posting wise, but I've lurked for a long time. Today I bought a 2008 Cherry Bomb XB12S from a local dealer for $5850 OTD. The bike had 1 mile on it and literally had to get the 1/8" layer of dust blown off it from sitting in the warehouse so long. They started off at $6500 but I walked a couple times (I was offering $5500 cash-in-hand firm) and finally after 3 days of back/forth they showed me a paper literally showing they had $5800 into the bike and could do no better. Who knows how bogus that paper was, but whatever. The sales manager said there was "no way he would let it roll for nada profit". We went from 6500 -> 6300 -> 6100 -> 5950 -> 5850. I'm pretty happy with the deal I guess, and to pay not too much more than a used '08 and still get full warranty makes me happy. I think it'll look real nice next to my ole Firebolt! Anyway, just curious if you guys think I should've been more firm on the $5500 or did I do good? A lot of dealers still sitting on 08+ Lightnings were NOT budging off list! Maybe $500 off list tops, but still. |

If you are happy with it then it was a good deal. Opinions will vary on what people think is a good deal. I think you did good. Jimmy |

WIth a warranty I think that is pretty good, the new 09/10 bikes were a little more than that after all discounts were applied, and it really is still new so no real problem with the price. |

You got great deal on a premium motorcycle. Most everyone wonders about the going rate for a new Buell or any brand out there actually- almost all sport bike sales have suffered for the past year or more. There are many of us who's values turned upside down (you know when you owe more than the actual street value - good for all new owner's since last October not so good for the rest) almost over night thanks to H-D decision to blow out the Buells still left- This depressed every body's values new & used. I bought a 2006 factory pre-owned model (w/2400 mi and an extra set of tires) in May of 2007 for $8900 which was the best price in the North west at the time. I've had almost 3 years of good times and owner satisfaction...regardless of what its worth someone else ...I know I got and still own a deal, its a keeper. Enjoy the upcoming season! |

Considering I payed $5k for my '03 9S a couple years ago with 4900 miles.....I think you did pretty darn good. Have fun and be safe. |
