A friend of mine has a set of digital scales for weighing a car and checking weight distribution and he set them up for me to weigh my XB. We also weighed his 1125R which is bone stock just for comparison.

I wasn't sure about the weight of my bike, but I figured I had added some weight with all of the turbo parts and removed some weight by chopping things shorter and removing some of the stock parts.

We weighed both my XB and his 1125R full of all fluids and with batteries in... i.e. nothing removed.

My XB = 470 lbs.
Weight distribution = Front 226 lbs., Rear 244lbs.

His 1125R = 473 lbs.
Weight distribution = Front 252 lbs., Rear 221lbs.

An interesting comparison, especially looking at the weight distribution. I know my XB has oil in the swingarm and a heavier tail section/seat to put more weight to the rear. The 1125R has coolant, radiators, oil, and more bodywork up front so the weight distribution seems correct. I had no idea my XB would be 3 lbs lighter than the 1125.

not suprizing it weighs more, the dry weight specified by manufactures is with virtually no fluids of any kind, even oils, and hydralics,or no battery or coolant that is why its called the dry weight. A bike will often weigh between 75-150 lbs heavier with all fluids gas and battery topped off and installed

Your bike is not stock, so it would be interesting to see what stock vs stock is.

Dr_greg weighed his 06 XB12X in at 515lbs.

The last time I did one of those dyno drag races, me on the bike was 600lbs, don't know how accurate their scale was.

How much gas was in each bike. The 1125 holds nearly twice as much fuel. Depending on how much fuel was in each bike the weight could vary by 38lbs. (if the xb was empty and the 1125 was full)

Which leads me to wonder about the load capacity. Not that i plan to ever exceed it but i would assume that it is a low ball estimate.

Any thoughts?
