Was at my dealer yesterday and was going to buy a race ecm for my 9 when he said that the part was currently obsolete. The new part # he gave me was 32814-YA. He said he has no way of telling when he can get the new ecm's and could not locate an old one. I want one bad but I don't want to buy an obsolete part........latest and greatest please. Anybody else heard the same story. |

Check the part number on the Buell site. They did make an older ECM a ways back and replaced it last year. That is what your HD dealer may have been referring to. I have not heard of a third chip being released.

First off the correct part number is 32814-02Y this is superceded, according to HD from the 32814-02YA It shows available but "pending" obsolete. There are a bunch of dealers with it in stock. I am not one of them, sorry. Ride to the edge! Dave |

So if we just ordered one from our local dealer, we should be ok? |

Yeah, checked buell site and dealer messed up part #. If this part is pending obsoletion(is that a word) I wonder how long the wait is going to be before the superceeded part comes out. The guys at Stone Mountain HD pretty much said they had no idea what was going on or when they were getting the new parts. Somebody has to know. Said the only one showing was in Virginia. Doesn't sound right to me - one ecm in the country. Daves - when you say the dealers have the ecm in stock do you mean the old ecm or the new one. |

"I wonder how long the wait is going to be before the superceeded part comes out." Presuming a new one will be released. |

They show the current one in stock at about 40 dealerships. Not sure what the problem is, they should be able to order it right from Buell for you. OR, you could just call me and I'll get one for you. Ride to the edge! Dave 920-757-1651 |

I have the new one (32814-02YA) in my XB9S. I had the dealer install a year ago. So, the "new" ecm has been around for a while now. |

In my computer it shows the -02YA as Obsolete and the -02Y as the current part number. I have one in stock if you want it. |

In my computer it shows the -02YA as Obsolete and the -02Y as the current part number. I have one in stock if you want it. That's weird, because I was told the 02YA is the new one, hence the addition of the "A" at the end of the part number. Now I'm confused. |

It was for a little while the current part number. What happens is they will put out something that is supposed to work better and then find out it doesn't work quite as well as the old one and switch back. It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the one you have it is just Buell/H-D doing what they normally do. |
