I know this has come up before, but I was curious to see if anyone had anything bad to say about the "Streetfighter Seat" compared to the stock on a 9s. I still am waiting to pick my 9s up from the dealer so I have had about 15 mins in total ride time ever on a stock seat. I didn't have a problem with the stock. I am thinking about upgrading, but might put on some miles first to see how the original works out. Anybody selling these seats under $170? |

Maverick, I have a Streetfighter seat I can sell you. I bought and used it for about a month when the Corbin seat came out. I just had to have that seat. It has been sitting on a shelf in my garage ever since. The Streetfighter seat is a nice seat. It's a lot more comfortable than the stock seat and looks better in my opinion. |

If you're like me , after a few miles you're ass will be askin for help/ w stock seat... the streetfighter seat is a huge improvement over stock, and it gotta be cheaper than any aftermarket options available out there... although, mine like others i've heard about on this board could fit better. |

I have the XB9S Low. Is the seat that comes on the XB9S Low the same as the streetfighter one? My ass is killing me after a couple of hours. Also, what is this corbin seat? |

The corbin seat is the real deal. Looks awesome and is very roomy and comfy. Very expensive however.

I have a street fighter seat as well. I like the way it looks and rides but the thing fits sloppy. You can grab the seat and move it all over the place. It seams that the front mount it just ill fitting. I tried to wrap some stuff around it to make it fit better but to no avail. It is still much better than stock. The low's seats are missing padding that the regular one already need. I have found that the new 12's seats have a whole different shape. They allow you better leg clearance. I can be flat footed on a new 12 but mine w/the fighter seat not quite. Just my 2 cents. |

For those of you who are on the fence on the corbin (thread jacking here). I low sided at the track on mine (dont ask, I normally dont take it to the track). The seat held up incredibly well, I do not think the stock or the streetfighter would have held up as well as the sturdy leather seat from Corbin. So, while expensive, it is sturdy. |

Want to save some bucks? Take your stock seat to an auto upholsterer. A good one can do just about anything at a fraction of the cost of the Corbin. My last seat was added padding, a color matched welt, and the same material used by Corbin, and a friend did it for $0. I have had two or three shops do this and they never charge over a hundred and they usually come out looking darn professional and more comfortable with extra padding added. Too much though and it will raise you up to a new riding position. Good Luck. |

Speaking of reworking the stock seat. I've been very happy with modifications I've done to S2, S3 and SV650 seats. I installed a Propad and at the same time re-shaped the seat foam using a power drill with disk and drum sanders. A good staple gun can shoot staples into the plastic base - an air powered on even better. All in all 700+ mile comfort for about $50 and some shop time. Henrik |

Ok, my email is in my profile. Shoot me a msg to that address if you are interested in my new streetfighter seat. Yes, it's more comfy and better looking than the stock one on the 12. Just my opinion from experience. I'll give you a hell of a lot better price than Buell (it's new) and you'll get it MUCH quicker. |

if you ride a lot, the corbin is well worth the price. if you rarely spend more then 2 hours in the saddle, it may seem too expensive, and would not be worth it to you. if you usually take the long way home, you will really like a corbin saddle. i am very happy with mine..... dean |

CJ...There is an excellent custom seat rebuilder in Milwaukee. The name of the company is "Back in the Saddle Motorcycle Seats" and is located inside Cycle Empire at 4001 W. Loomis Rd (across the street and just north of "Real Leather." He does everything right there including gel padding. One of the best services he has is he will make suggestions based on how you fit on your bike and your style of riding. Much better than buying a new saddle without trying it out first. edited by Outrider on April 21, 2004 |

Buellny...You may want to check around at the independent Harley shops. That is where this guy is located. He does fantastic work on all brands and types of bikes. Seems with all the aftermarket manufacturers selling "one size fits all" saddles there is quite a demand. I am having him do a gel insert on my X1 to cut the vibes to me bones. Saw a lot of his fancy leather work and am going to pass for now. LOL Betcha Dollars to Donuts there is an equivalent within a reasonable distance from you. You just need to keep asking. Good luck! |
