Doug: For the record, I am in total concert with you and am most certainly not advocating doing nothing. Small claims is precisely that and in many juridictions limited to amounts less than this. It may also, I'd have to check, may be more set up for torts and property types of things as opposed to "fitness for purpose" types of issues. Don't misread me, I want this group made whole. Mostly I want 3 things. 1) Equity 2) For the "middlemen" like American Sport Bike and Aaron to not be hammered instead of the guilty folks. 3) For my friends to waste as little time and money while being made whole. Add to that SAFETY. As a guy who has had a muffler come off a Buell into the rear time "at speed", I know there are many more consequences to a failed Buell muffler than noise. Forwarding this thread to Force and asking them to discuss an equitable solution is a great start. I'd be willing, as a person who does not own a Force pipe, to mediate. It's in their best interest to have many of us wanna-be-and-kinda-in-the-journalistic-loop not be esposing their poor quality and lack of responsiveness. I'm all for a solution, just suggesting that a Bulldog attorney, although romantic, may not be the best route. Last point, it IS your money. Regardless of the amount you earn, the POINT is that you swaped an honest hour for an honest buck. When you spend it in good faith you deserve, in the classic model of commerce, VALUE. Court |

Just a thought... Would it help if we all sent Force an email expressing that we feel they need to address this problem NOW if they expect to sell anything to us in the future? Strength in numbers. |

Obviously you have never dealt with John directly. He has an ego thats bigger than all of us put together & will completely ignore any attempt at basically what would amount to extortion. |

I sent an email to the PR guy at Force and Johnny last week. I hope to hear back from one of them soon. I've talked to Johnny on a couple of occasions. I really don't think he's acting out of greed, or malevolence, or vindictiveness. I think that he's more delusional and focused on other things. He certainly has an enthusiasm for performance parts and Buells. I don't think he's very organized is what I'm trying to say. I could be wrong. I'll let you know. |

I sent them this email and heard nothing. I cc'd everyone there, although looking at it I somehow missed johnny boy. Of course, I've heard nothing. screw the courts, I'll just keep posting the info everywhere and let people know. I dont know how business's like that with SHIT customer service stay around. if someone where that "excited" about performance parts you'd think they would have at LEAST made a phone call to say 'hey its fucked up, we are tring to get the pipe right and dont want to send it out yet' or whatever, but I got NOTHING. I dont know what he is excited about but it is for sure NOT the pipe for the XB. "did my pipe make it out this week? I really need to get something going, I have to get my bike out of the dealer, its been there sense Nov. when I shipped the pipe/megaphone/baffle to you. If you would have said it was going to be 6 months I wouldn't have sent it out right away and I could have at least had the bike at home"...... "I'm sure you can understand my frustration. "........ "If its going to go past next week, just send the header/pipe/baffle back to me (actually back to the dealer, I called and left their address) so I can get the bike out of the dealership. They did some warranty work right before they sent the pipe system back and haven't been able to run it to make sure its fixed, which now the bike is out of warranty."

I had read enough about Force and precisely because of all that has been posted and all I have heard, I spent a bigger chunk of change on a Beson system for the racebike. Picking it up this week.

Tom Beson makes Hal's race pipes. I saw the one installed on Leno's XB12 (punched to 1350 by Hal's) and started looking into it. This is a Beson pipe on Cicotto's/Hal's XB edited by slaughter on April 12, 2004 |

Misato. I don't get it. For that ~$600 storage payment you could have almost bought a race kit. Then, once you finally settled things and got the Force, someone here (possibly myself) could have bought the race kit from you. Or, you could have had the bike towed to your garage. Anyway, as I see it, nothing after the $1350.00 for the Force exhaust can be put back on Force. That's all on you. That said, I doubt I will buy anything from them. I haven't followed your story too much so I will go back to the beginning when I have a minute. Maybe I'm missing something?? Mike. |

The problem is that Force seemed to keep telling him "A couple weeks, A couple weeks, A couple weeks...". |

In that case, my limit would have been about two weeks before I took my bike back. Whether I am able to ride the bike or not, it has to be home! ........But I'm not Misato. Mike. |

well, it was winter so I didn't really mind not having it, I just put what it WOULD have cost if I had to pay storage, I did not have to, nor would I have.. it just makes it sound better... plus it would have sat in my friends living room.. I just bought a house and now have a garage, so yeah NOW I'M READY |

Just talked to Force and the lady on the phone said she heard rumor that some of the new ones shipped today. Hopefully I won't have to wait near as long for mine as Misato did for his. Misato, Here's to you getting your pipe soon. |

I'm curious... Has this soured your taste for all things Force? Or if the new pipe they send you is up to the task of being on a Buell, will this be water under the bridge? I've read all the posts here, and haven't had anything to contribute, as I've never bought anything from Force. But judging by past posts, and the heart ache it's been for Tim, I'll not send any money their way. I think it was Rocket that said something to the tune of "Fragile Horsepower"... |

Yes I talked to Dave and he said the first quick fix pipes were on their way out the door. So as I said before: Misato, Here's to you and getting your pipe soon Here's to hoping that it is in this batch |

"Quick Fix Pipes" out the door, and sounds like in the trash. I hope they just didn't do a quick fix and send them out! This is not sounding promising. L8R, JM |

yeah, I dont know. I'm sure when I ride again I won't care. it might be just fine with the new pipe and no one will have issues. if they do, thats where I see the problems. interesting. wtf is 'quick fix'? he did say something about making brackets for the chin fairing later. don't care about that I won't run it. I sure as hell will not send it back to them again. they should send me a BRAND NEW PIPE and when I get it, I'll send mine back. I dont know what its going to look like either. he said they are not doing the silver anymore. he said something about jet coat adding more time, blah blah. just send it to me and I'll have it recoated if I have to. |
