I strongly recommend everyone out there to get this fixed (12S models). My 12S has less than 2K miles on it and the wire already caused a short last week due to the wire being frayed. Luckily I was not in a corner, nor stuck in traffic so it was OK - just a pain in the ass... If this were to happen in a corner or at high RPM's there's a good chance of throwing the bike off balance so better safe than sorry - if you are far from a dealer you can "fix" this in 5 mins with a bit of electrical tape & a cutter. Take off the front "number plate" and wrap the yellow wire and the horn screw with electrical tape (cut down the screw if you can) and you're off. Ride carefully! | ||

yes kaudette is right on point... do check that horn wire. i recommend using a shorter horn mount screw, and apply "chafing gear" (old logging term) to the affected wire. easy fix, enjoy. dean | ||

Good call, I checked mine after reading and sure enough, it has some wear on the yellow wire. Now if only I can find the damn electrical tape, I may be able to fix it under 5 hours. Thanks, Jason | ||

I put wire loom on my wire when I did my bars and heated grips. Dont laugh "Once you have heat, you wont ride with out that sheet" I love it  45-50 degrees and Im wearing light riding gloves. |
