You haven't been to AZ much have you? Nope, been to the state 3 times. Drove thru in the middle of the night & saw absolutely nothing about 20 years ago. Rode my bike across Hoover dam & into AZ & spent a few hrs riding the roads near the stateline. Had a layover flight coming out of Vegas once, landed in Phoenix, spent 2 hrs there & never left the terminal. Isnt AZ where you guys have that big assed hole? The Grand Canyon I think its called |

Being a prior owner of a V-MAX the only place you would be able to stay with the MAX would be at 55mph top gear roll-ons.But even then it wouldn't take long for it to eat you alive. |

Glitch, you need to bring him to the meeting so we can take him on a tour ( a tour of our backsides that is ) |

I knew I'd get flamed over the Vmax Comment but facts are facts. I never said I smoke it. He would take me off the line, thats a given but after that we would stay the almost exactly the same distance. I road with him most of last summer and it was the same every time. He had his V-max for about 4 years and definitly knew how to ride it. He now has a Hyabusa, and that will absolutely smoke my new XB12R and as for the other 2 guys I ride with. One has a 954 Honda and the other has a R1 Yamaha. They will also smoke my XB12 in a straight line but I can take em on the twisty roads. Hope I didn't hurt your ego Bads1 but my friend would tell you the same story. Like I said earlier, I think it bothered him so much that he went and traded it in. We all know Buells aren't drag bikes so If you bought one to drag race other bikes, you screwed up. Ok I'm done now so flame away!! |

Straight up & honest to god truth here, the only way an XB is keeping up with a Max in a drag race is if the Max has a couple plug wires pulled off. And an R1 is quite capable of the running the exact same twisties as the Buell is. The XB is a fine handling machine & does well in the tight stuff, but its not a magic bike & has some weird mystical powers where no other bike can perform the same in the tight stuff. |

I knew I'd get flamed over the Vmax Comment but facts are facts. Facts are indisputable evidence. Couple years ago I raced a guy on a new R1 with my X1. We raced 3 times from different lights & it was the same everytime..I beat him. Now does that mean an X1 can smoke an R1? Hell no, it just means on that day I was a better rider with more control of my bike & its capabilities. No facts there at all, just my own personal observations on that particular day. BTW..later on I was absolutley creamed by a ZX7. |

One out of two things....He can't ride or his bike is not running on all cylinders.I also have 12 and my best buddy still has his MAX and that thing will walk away and hide from my 12.And I'm not talk'n drag racing I'm talking at just about every gear and any rpm and at any mph.Hell I know the MAX pretty good,I owned it from new 1986-92 and had it quite modified in 1990 after blowing out one cylinder at the drag strip. |

Dyna, Don't talk about something you don't know. Fact is the XB will absolutely outhandle an R1 on a twisty road. It does have very different technology, and it does work. Motorcycle Online actually did a comparison and proved it. Riders who own XBs prove it all the time. So you had engine problems with a tube frame bike a couple of years ago...how does that qualify you to cut down XBs on handling? Get over it. |

Where did I cut down on the handling???????????? Here's what I typed The XB is a fine handling machine & does well in the tight stuff Maybe you have a reading comprehension issue? I have gone over a large portion of your posts & it seems like you enjoy attacking me in quite a few of them, even tho I havent said squat to you. I have a pretty good guess who you really are..lets see if others can figure it out too. Been on any snowmobiles lately? |

You conveniently forget your comment that "An R1 is quite capable of the running the exact same twisties as the Buell is." You obviously implied that an R1 was as adept at plying the curves as an XB. Like Imonabuss says, the boys at MO discovered quite the opposite. |

"but its not a magic bike & has some weird mystical powers where no other bike can perform the same in the tight stuff" Drats, scratch that idea. Dyna, got a quick question for you over on the BCBRAG page. |

I gotta agree with Dyna about the V-max. One of my riding buddies has one and its a tough machine. It has a pipe/jetkit/airfilter on it and it sounds mean! It`ll smoke my XB12R in a drag race or a roll on easily and the thing is like 10 years old! I`ve also ridden the Max and they are seriously fast bikes. Don`t forget it probably has a 45HP advantage on my XB12, so its not a fair comparison. Throw some tight turns in and its a different story! |

I read an article on the Max a few years ago. (never ridden one) It said the motor was massively powerful, the handling sub par (when compared to other equally powerful bikes) One quote stuck out. "Have it pointed in the direction you want to go before you whack the throttle open." |

They're just racing greyhounds against airdales. Not sure if that's the same subject, probably not. Different dogs, different purposes, both bark, both can bite, still different though, probably in every sense. |
