I'm just wondering if my blue pipes are normal, and the popping on decel is healthy bike stuff. I'm on a '09 XB12scg with a Drummer and the EBR ECM. Thinking back, the stock exhaust and ECM popped also...but not quite as noticeably |

Totally normal. The pipes on both my '03 9S and '04 12S are blue, although the 12's are a deeper blue. Both pop on decel also, the 9 more then the 12. Also note that both are race kitted now but did it with the stock pipes and ecm also. |

Completely normal. What you do want to look for is the same amount of blue-ing on each pipe. If one is not the same then that cylinder is not running right. |

My bike popped on decel with the stock pipe, and still does with aftermarket. Does the popping hurt anything? |

Popping is harmless. I actually think it sounds cool. When I was younger I had a '62 Impala with a 235cid blue flame six and split exhaust manifold, that baby would pop and spit on decel like crazy. |

From what I've heard the popping means the bike is running a bit hot. You can tune it a little bit richer and it should get rid of it. Mine's done it for a while. Hasn't caused any harm. |

I just keep checking my plugs at oil changes. I think the blue is cool too. How was that done? |

Mine were blueish going on gold when I received it, now they are getting down right dark gold. Going to wrap them eventually anyway. |
