Danke Gunter. Ich werde sorgraltig lesen.

The error message was fixed by reinstalling EcmRead after Mono was completely installed. Thanks for the program Gunter.

Einige Leute sollten diese Ausrüstungen nicht benutzen, wenn sie es beladen können.

For those not seeing there ecm. There were two more file types added and a new website forefront.
the BueWd ecm and the bue3d ecm are in the xdf files at this time.

Hey guys the buell tuning guide (version 2) makes reference to a version-3 for DDFI3's. Do you have this guide available or is there a guide for ecmread?? Also I'm trying to connect to my EBR Race ECM but am lost for which xdf file to use.

what is the firmware data name?

Gunter may need the Read data to build the XDF file.

I can forward or Pm him directly.

I've reduced my 0-TPS fuel values by about 7% front & rear from 2K-4K Rpm's to help eliminate my decel popping. The new map burned great and the popping is ruduced but not gone completely. Is there a safe-zone for my fuel values?? I know an a/f value of 17.0 & leaner is target but ecmread won't tell me the a/f value. Can I use spy on my 08 to get this??

Mike / Gunter:

The EBR Race ECM loaded as a "Pro Series ECM" with a BUE2D xpr. There was an xdf converter available on the website and i'm now allowed to read write to the ECM. I didn't make any changes with the exception of disabling my Active Muffler Controller so now i can unplug and disconnect it (i did this to my stock ECM too which i'm currently running).

The only change i've made so far is i leaned my deceleration values to lessen my decel popping by the following values:

RPM 3400 2900 2400 2150 1900 1350
Fuel -3% -6% -10% -10% -10% -4%

How dangerous is it to lean out the 0 TPS at mid to low RPM's to lessen/eliminate popping?? I wouldn't dare lean the bike out in areas that would be often seen, but decelling only occurs for a few seconds at a time so i'm hoping Mike or Gunter can tell me this is relatively safe to do and shouldn't overheat or harm my engine. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated guys!

thanks for everything, Kyle

I personally run my zero very lean till idle zone. I also set my decel fuel % at 90

as for a actual safe afr I dont have that answer but mine is not running hot at 19 in the zero row.

I feel this area is personal choice. as the oil is still flowing to the rings wetting the piston. and more cool are less burn is less heat. the most heat possible is at 14.7:1 either way away from that its actually cooler.

see the bosch website on afr and heat temps for details.

maybe Gunter will fill in or pash more vivid details. they are both experts in the field more so than I.

Immense gratitude to all involved in these developments. I bought a cable several months ago when I first saw a preview screenshot of the new software running on Ubuntu.

However, I have observed that attempting to download the Linux version results in a 404 file not found.

Please correct the link so that I may download this tool on my machine. I *only* run Linux and have no Windows machines at all.

Thank you again for your time and efforts; they are truly appreciated!

I wonder if Wine would work for ya.

That would be wrong in so many ways it's not even funny.

Mono is a free, open source implementation of ECMA standard called Microsoft .NET that runs natively on Linux.

The fact that Windows users have Mono.exe is because of Linux and Miguel de Icaza, developer of GNOME, the Linux and free software community, and Novell who bankrolled the efforts to create Mono.

So, Wine is not really a good solution for this issue... A real solution would be to simply fix the download link.

Thanks anyway for trying to help.

Linux can use a virtual machine.
If you run Windows in a virtual machine. (actually pretty easy to do for you). Go get Virtual Box from Sun, install it, get a copy of Win XP and install it in Virtual Box. This may allow you to use the various tuning software available for your bike. This may or may not solve your problem. However, it might be worth the while.

While I love Linux, I'm not near as good with it as I'd like, and obviously not up to speed with regards to the politics that be.
I run Ubuntu on my machine, but windoze to take care of a lot of client's needs, as that's what they use, and they pay me to support, so I'm actually on windoze boxes more than my Ubuntu box.
Maybe one day, I'll be free. : )
