i have the drummer on an xb9 and its awesome. so much more power. definitely a different bike from stock. it talks for sure. you hear it. people hear it. you hear it some more. i love the sound, but when i need to, i just throw some earplugs in and its fine. |

Honestly i have been mulling over the same question for my xb9sx. From the info I've gathered from asking the same question and the shoot out is that the Special Ops is louder and the Drummer sounds nicer and is nicer looking. However from what i understand they both have nearly the same functionality and both Kevin and Odie are very pleasant to deal with. Now it's time for Froggy to pick apart my statement. lol |

It's a Ford-Chevy thing. I have a Special OPS, Odie is the man, the sound is incredible, and nothing looks better than the stock exhaust- especially after Odie "fixes" it. I have no doubt that the Drummer is top-notch. I have heard Kevin is the man, his exhaust sounds great, and it performs. I personally don't care for the look of a drummer, though. I prefer Ford. Pick the one you like... they're both excellent products- there's no wrong answer here. |

I'm goin with a hawk exhaust. With my modifications to a stock Buell XB Muffler it will sound and perform better than a Buell Pro Race Muffler. Randy has absolutely no data to back this up. With the Drummer and SpecOps at least you have data you can rely on. |

Not this time, I said something similar in his other thread. Between these two pipes, there is no bad choice. The Drummer pipes do cost a few bucks more, but in my opinion are nicer looking. If you are on a budget, Special Ops is your winner. |

I don't care about the dump numbers. I'm not racing the bike. Also the hawk is by far the cheapest exhaust and randy is very easy to work with. I just can't bring myself to pay someone 300-400 to gut my exhaust and sell it back to me. I'm awaiting the next copy/paste lecture |

The Special Ops is only $250, and it isn't a gutted exhaust. If you are just interested in more noise, you would be best off just drilling some holes in your stock pipe. I don't say much about the Hawk pipe anymore because of too many cry babies, but I will say you get what you pay for. (Message edited by froggy on March 15, 2010) |

why is it that the Hawk pipe gets so much ridicule here when the people who have them have nothing bad to say about it? |

just got my hawk exhaust installed did a little 200 miler this weekend. it sounds great, deep and bassy. no blattyness. with the stock fuelling she seems to ride at least as well as and equal to the stock exhaust. no weird power dips anywhere. i wouldve went with spec ops but i had a time limit for how long i can go w/o the exhaust but really from what i hear...you really cant go wrong with either the drummer, the spec ops, or the hawk. its just w/ the drummer and the spec ops, you get bonus points from supporting a sponsor. i do my part by buying everything else that i need from al at americansportbike.com |

Two muffler manufacturers are longtime sponsors here and are always helpful; they've both established excellent reputations for customer service, honesty, and integrity; those would be Drummer and Special OPS. The other party has sought to advertise his wares here absent sponsorship; now others are apparently keen on doing that for him. Integrity and honor matter. You be the judge. |

I'm not trying to debate the integrity and honor of any of the people involved. Also I am not an employee of Randy, and I'm not being paid to endorse his product. I'm just trying to state that there is another player besides special ops and drummer. I have spoke with all three men, just like I'm sure most of you have, and all seem to be stand up guys. I do buy from many of the sponsors and let them know this is where I found their sites. However, the fact that one cannot even mention a nonsponser is crazy. |

"the fact that one cannot even mention a nonsponser is crazy." That is not our policy. Anyone who spends any time here knows that. Our policy is that non-sponsors not be promoted here, which is what you did, blatantly. |

Jaybird- I just thought it was a funny thread, certainly no apologies needed! Sorry if my post came off as rude or whatever....didn't mean it that way. there's been a few threads like this one, and they are what has led me to recommend Spec Ops to my bro. Also, they all seem to end up the same way so....have you decided on one or the other (I REALLY don't think you can go wrong either way)? |

More proof right there that Randy is an unethical jackass. Despite being banned in the past has come back by trying to circumvent his ban with multiple screen names just so he can continue to sell his junk. |
