does the mud flap make contact with the tire?

As stated in an earlier post, I have no "mud flaps" and I have been at triple digit speeds with no noticeable expansion or "growing" of the tire.
Steering has changed little during spirited street rides.
After a trackday next month, I will post up what it felt like. |

The exhaust is a D&D.
Previous owner installed H-D fork cans to help with the "popping" under decel and to quiet the system a little.
I removed the cans and found that the exhaust did more decel "popping" and was far louder.
I replaced them after only one round trip to work (100 miles)
The look is different thats for sure. |

wait till you see how fast that tire wears out. i sold alot of those at the dealer cuz most people only get 3-4k out of them. |

Caution with this. Since the tire increases in diameter with speed...think top fuel dragster tires. You may rub when going fast. Take a good look at your tire and your swingarm. I cracked a swingarm doing this. Leaked oil all over the place. I was left stranded 500 miles from my house. |

I will repeat again...there is very, very little or no swelling or expansion of the tire.
So far I have 600 miles on this tire.
Let's hope for the 4k mileage. I only got 3500 out of the stock Pirelli.
Since the tire is a harder compound than the Pirelli and is rated for 900+ lbs, the mileage should, hopefully, be better.
Only time will tell. |

Yes,pics would be ok...
but you really need to relate the way the bike handles with the wider, larger tire.
Most here think it has adverse consequences if you do this.

Well, 200/55/17 is fitted and for all those out there that swore it would ruin the turn in... your wrong! i cannot feel any diffence. If anything, it rides better, maybe due to new bearings??? Anyway, looks is what im after anyway and it looks the part. Belt clearance is very tight 4mm approx, but doesnt rub or flex at speed. Pics tomorrow. Thanks reiguy for your help.

That sounds interesting, I've always wanted to lower my revs on the freeway a bit. But I'm confused do I get a 190/55 or a 190/50. I guess I don't know what these numbers signify.. (I have a 9r btw)
Also wouldn't raising the rear with a bigger tire make the steering faster and offset the slower cornering from the wider tire?
