hi everyone.. first post here, need some major help. I'm in the process of giving my bike more of a barebones kind of look, including stripping it of a lot of front end parts.. gauges, flyscreen, etc.. I've remounted the ignition on the other side of the bike and I'm fabricating a mounting bracket for the headlights and signals. I'll be replacing the gauge set w/ a Veypor. Here's my problem.. The wiring harness is a lot more complicated than I expected and I'm way over my head now.. I guess I'll start w/ one question and get further into it after I've got an answer.. The harness that I removed from the stock gauge set: do I need any of those wires or are they all for the indicator lights.. I imagine I'll want the one leading from the ignition harness to power the Veypor..?? right? but it seems the rest are useless to me.. I'd really like to avoid a dealership rescue so any help I can get to sort out this insanity over the next couple months would be great.. Thanks guys.. |

Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a service manual, all the wiring is in the back of the book. |

thanks Glitch.. I had a feeling I'd get that response. Do you know that the manual will tell me exactly which wires are which? Hopefully in a way that can be easily understood? Thanks again.. |
