SOOO, I've been gathering parts for my streetfighter XB9 I am building...
As for ignition, I need to install a non stock system, due to the fact that I'm going to run it on a MIKUNI HSR 42 carburettor.
I want to keep it simple....DYNA S, DYNA 2000, DAYTONA TWIN TEK, CRANE FIREBALL...WHICH SHOULD I USE????

Have had great luck with Dyna 2000 units.
How are you going to use a carb on a XB? I would think mounting will be a issue

I was thinking the same thing as you do not have the side holes that carb bikes have to hold the carb on.

He hE, i am using a custom fighter frame...the engine will be used as stress member but will have a coventional fuel tank.
About the dyna 2000, do I need a mechanical advance mechanism?? and is it compatible with all Buell models isnce it refers to sportsters???

iancook our question though is how are you going to hold the carb on to the engine as you do not have the crank case holes on the side that holds the carb on like xl and tuber engines have.

the two big bolts on each side of the intake also hold the carb and intake on.

as you can see xb engine does not have them

Firebolt, looks from that second picture that there is possibly material there that just hasn't been machined yet that could be used as a mounting location if drilled and tapped?

I've been thinking about fabbing an intake manifold that puts the carb in the airbox.
And a Dyna ign.

I see that too and I think i remember an engine building company like revperf or nhrs will tap the holes in the xb heads so you can use them on sportsters or tubers.

I was wondering if this is what Iancook was planning on doing though are not.
