Has anybody done this? I'm having a tough time deciding what to do to my seat to make it fit better with the sub-frame spacers. I checked the archives and found folks have mentioned heating and bending the seat pan while it's held back using a ratchet strap, and also mentions of adjusting the seat lock using spacers ... but no real specifics on how to do it, and why it needs to be done that way. I'd hate to screw up my seat ... I might even take it to a local custom bike shop and have them take a shot at it - that way, if they screw it up, they gotta get me a new one ... unless someone can give me some pointers? |

FWIW, all of the seats for your bike use the same seat pan. I say this for 2 points: 1) you question is not specific to the Select Seat 2) you could try out your technique on another seat first that said, I don't have an answer for your question |

Thanks for the info ... so I guess this goes out to anyone who modified their seat for a tail lift (Trojan Horse on mine, if it makes a difference)? Wish I still had my stock SL seat to practice on (I gave it to a BadWebber who was trying to help out another Bueller who was on his tip-toes on a stock regular seat) ... |

Sorry ... but thanks anyway. I found a little more info on another forum mentioning that the pm-Performance tail lift comes with some spacers to relocate the seat lock - anyone have them or know what they look like? |

I have the pm raiser. They come with 2plastic spacers about quarter to half inch long and push back the lock. In their install guide it shows using the ratchet system and a hair dryer or hotter heat to bend the seat although I didn't do this and it fits ok. |

Thanks Hover ... I'm still trying to figure out a way to make the seat fit better, but putting heat on the pan makes me nervous since there is gel right behind it. Anyone else have ideas/experience before I take it to a custom shop? BTW, I saw pics of your bike on another forum ... I like what you did with the leaf on the front pulley - looks sharp and cleans it up. How did the mask come out? |
