Ok, I'm reassembling my XB9SX after replacing the base gaskets on the engine. I'm using the Cometic gasket set from American Sport Bike with the .03 head gasket. I've gotten to the rocker box and I'm finding that when I tighten the main bolts down that my valves are remaining slightly open. Just a hair.

I've swapped the push rods around to see if it was that and found that it helped a bit to where the valves are now just a hair open. Is this normal after doing engine work on the heads and they will adjust to close all the way or is something up?

Is the crank set at TDC on the firing stroke for that cylinder?
If not the cam lobes will hold the valve/valves open.

The crank is set to where both valves are closed. I talked to someone and was informed that the reason it's slightly open is due to the lifters needing to bleed down. So, I set it and will wait. Should be good by tomorrow. It's cold out so I'm guessing this might be why it's taking a bit to happen.
