bucknut, did they say that was a temp pipe?
the pipe I got back wasn't the one I sent it and it has some scratches/dents. small but I'm not going to leave it one if thats what they think.

I have a freind that raced a few seasons on his rc-51 and he says he knows where to get it fixed up. I'm gonna try that.

your map made it run better but I still thought I would feel more up top. The baffle is in now, and yes I have holes in my airbox.

as arron and others have said you are way gone lean. 13.1 to 13.5....

you'll get more hp and your engine will love you if you give it more fuel

good luck

maybe I should take a week off and ride down there.. hmm, I'd need a list of every buell dealer between seattle and there. belt would probably break once, hmm. I need a parts truck to follow me. hmmm.

Misato,

It's no temp, it's the real deal....it should be after almost four months. The pipe was packaged well and in perfect condition when it arrived. I would restore your airbox and filter to the original. Has anyone ever shown these holes to be beneficial on a dyno? I understand the conventional logic around it but I think people overestimate the ability of the computer to compensate and richen the air/fuel mixture. I believe these bikes are tuned lean to begin with to meet EPA regs and to open up the airbox would only make this worse. Obviously the best thing you could do is find out who does custom maps in your area and has a reputation of knowing what the "f" they are doing....and have them make you a map specific to your mods right on the dyno. It's the only way to get it balls on...and you paid for the Power Commander so might as well use it to its potential. I freaking love my bike the way it is now....it rips to fifth gear. I think the only mod I would consider doing would be adding a Baker 6-speed...if only it wasn't so pricey. It's not the fastest thing I've ever ridden or owned but it's definitely the most fun!

so is it cut into 3 sections? each header pipe is a section and then one below?
I have plyer gouges up by the o2 and a small dent in the front header and a small scratch on the megaphone. WTF

I'm looking for dyno shops up here. not any HD ones this time

The Baker-6 doesn't fit the XB's at all. Totally different case design.

The rear end of the tranny on the XB is the mount for the swingarm right?

I have an appointment with amiracingengines.com to dyno tune the thing @ $100/hr, next thursday. turns out they are about 10min from my house.
I've heard good things, but we shall see. I'm interested to see what it does as is, compared to the 2 DHD dyno runs if nothing else. I'm hoping for the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Misato,

The new setup is the same as the original - one piece header pipe, muffler w/brackets attached and baffle. That's good you are getting the bike tuned. It cost me about $250 - money well spent considering the map Nallin sent us was worthless.

huh. then wtf was dave @ force telling me all about the new setup with springs at the junctions (like the Ti's I'm guessing) and no mounts for the front fairing.

hey blake, what did mr force say? did he ever get back to you?

hey arron, what do you guys do to the pipe when u get them? its a litle more $ for the one you sold right?

so where'd mine go?

do I get to keep the new dings and dents?

WHAT THE F IS GOING ON

I called Force today about their "new" streetfighter kit for the XB`s. (pipe and TFI box)

They said they have a totally new pipe for the kit and it comes in 3 sections that slipfits together and also held by 2 springs at each joint.
Completely different for the pipe out now.

And the TFI box with the kit is the new model for the XB line coming out this month.

They said the kit will be for sale in about 1 month.

OK, the kit will be for sale in about 1 month. In previous terms that's:

#1. Next month you are allowed to pay for the kit.
#2. It will start shipping in 6-8 months
#3. It will probably break the first 2-4 weeks you have it installed.
#4. They will ask you to send it in after 10-20 phone calls.
#5. They will keep it for another 6-9 months.
#6. When they send it back, it won't be a completely new setup, it will be a "Quick fix" and have more damage than it had before you sent it back.
#7. They will start the whole cycle over again with some other poorly engineered pipe, hoping noone reads these post.

Does that sound about right?

Please correct me if I have left something out.

Yeah... No Force for me. The whole thing was just completely mis-handled IMO.

I think we should all just get together and design something new and as innovative as the XB and find a builder.
