So I bought an X1 this last year, we sold the Blast and my girlfriend now rides the XB9S. I really wanted to make it "hers", so I have been scheming a while as to what to do. Here is the end result. Mods to the bike: Race pipe, K&N, Race ECM Custom painted wheels Powder coated rear frame rails, pass peg brackets, heel guards, engine sub frame/oil cooler bracket, gauge/fly screen brackets, etc. White plastics Vinyl graphics designed by me, then cut by a friend that does some stuff for my business XB Lights rear taillight Breather re-routed Kellerman Micro1000 turns I'm sure there's more, but you get the idea! I have another tail piece that is getting powder coated right now in a 2-tone: top half to match the seat rails, bottom half black to match the undertray. Enjoy, I just wanted to show it off a bit!
And a few of the plastics and powder coated parts before installing:

+1 to Froggy...wow... Wfhaag, that's why you gotta start them early! It took 2 1/2 years, but I finally convinced my girlfriend to let me teach her. Next summer, she gets the Blastard! |

I'm with Froggy. Can't go wrong with the white. Now if I only had the nerve to do something with my wheels. |

I bought my wife a Blast for X-Mas back in 04. She rode that for 2 years. Shes been on a XB9S since. She won't let me touch her bike for any custom stuff. Its got the factory race kit and that it. She likes it as is. I'm ok with that though. Its hard on me though considering I went completely nuts with mine over the years. (Message edited by bads1 on December 11, 2009) |

Thank you for the kind words, means a lot from a community that I respect. My older bro bought a Blast a few years ago, then got a CityX and sold the Blast to my little bro who proceeded to get a DWI while riding...at night...on the freeway...while doing 85 and changing lanes with no signal and only a motorcycle permit. Dumba$$. So he sold it to me for cheap for Sam to learn to ride on. She put a few thousand miles on it when I got the itch for a tuber and we sold the Blast. The Blast really is a great little bike to learn on (and very fun for the occasional around-town rips for me too!), and it's just not very intimidating for a newbie. The XB build is a labor of love. Sam has made great efforts to enjoy "my" hobby of motorcycling, and I kind of wanted to reward her with her own wheels that didn't look like my hand-me-down. Plus, how hot is it that my girlfriend rides a bad-ass bike?? This is the jacket and helmet that she already wears, should look sweet on the bike:

Very nice.... Always loved the all white XB9S idea. Reminds me of the S1W and X1W White Lightnings |

Hi Robert, I was waiting for you to see it! Well the show that I was going to present it to her at is the IMS show in the Buell booth..which of course will no longer exist. So she'll get it for Christmas instead ...now to figure out how to get it under the tree... |

"WOW but the mirrors tragic That is a fine machine there" Thanks! ...and I agree, but she really like the stockers! I had a set of CRG lane splitters on it before, she didn't like the look too much so now they reside on my X1. "Looks great, but how does it handle in the snow?" Horrible! It sucked getting it back up the driveway. :P "A set of these might help Beautiful work!" Thanks, I would love to ride in snow! |

I really dig it! You did the opposite on what I'm trying to do (blacking mine out). Doesn't that XB Light kick ass!? Makes the rear end POP. |

Yeah if I were to keep riding that bike, it would be going all black as well! All of the parts that I had powder coated I sourced used or new parts, sandblasted and coated. So I have all the originals plus the black plastics. I think I'm going to keep them all (eventually pc the part black) and try to find a 12S someday and go all black! The white fits my girl quite well tho |

That is beautiful. I hope she loves it, I know I would. I'm actually thinking of making my new CR white. If HD hadn't dropped Buell, my original plan was to get a 2010 CR in white. What a great husband you are. |

"What a great husband boyfriend you are." Fixed that for ya! someday... The compression on the pics I first loaded was horrible (and the pics were not that great either...), so here's a better pic, showing the colors a little bit better. The blue vinyl, blue painted wheel, and blue powdercoated heel guards all mach very well in real life!
