What improvements were made to the 2010s, if any? Any real differences? |

LED brake light, turn signals, 2 O2 sensors (one for the rear pipe and now one for the front pipe) and a slightly larger right side air scoop. I think that about covers all the differences with the 2010 models. |

The second o2 sensor is supposed to make the bike run better, right? Will it be harder or easier to tune now? |

It looks like all 2010 Buells have the upgraded rear wheel bearings we first learned about on the Uly. 3 bearings vs. 2, larger diameter, separate external dust seals, hard anodized axle to prevent corrosion. I don't think the bearings have ever been much of a problem on the smaller XB's, but they've been something of a nuisance on the Uly's and to a lesser extent the 1125's. |

So is it worth it to try and find a 2010 or should I just go with an '09? |

go for any model you like. if you must have the latest and greatest, stick to 08 and up. |

Anything 08 or newer is good. 09's you can get a good price on, but 2010 models are hard to find. |

I was lucky found a 2010 R. I have heard the rear cylinder fan run while riding, but not once has it continued to run after the bike was shut off. |

I'd stick with an 09. Since the 10s were only made for 4 months not many of them will be around and finding the seals and rear wheel bearings and other little changes the 10s have will be harder to find in the years to come compared to the 09s and earlier. |

You can probably get the 2010 bearings from ANY bearing supplier, just like the older wheels. Oh, and your less likely to have a failure on the 2010 wheel, so its non issue anyway. |

I also lucked into an '10 xb12r. Another change not mentioned, the exhaust exits to the rear, instead of a 45 angle to the the foot. bonus. |

That looks like the Uly pipe. Interesting. Buell.com shows the standard pipe. |

Maybe S1wmike can confirm on his. Mine has a manufacture date of sept 09, dealer supposedly just got it about the time of the closing announcement; in fact it was still in crate the 21st. |

i didn't notice the pipe when i saw him this last weekend, as i was distracted by the LED tail light and front O2 sensor. he told me the vin # was like ______000004 or something. pretty neat, i think. and i have a pipe with that exit tip sitting on my porch right now, but it came off an 09 SCG. -cali model if it matters- |

Yes that exhaust first came out on the 2007 STT, then it got carried over to the Uly, and then when the STT got renamed to the SS it kept it, now it looks like Buell was putting it on random bikes for shits and giggles Looking at pics from the last build day thread, all the 2010 XB models I can see have the Uly pipe. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30841364&id= 1308501349 |
