I've been calling a lot of places to get a Uly XT, and while it is harder to track one down, what's the opinion on them being totally gone very soon?

I got a quote from Danburry Buell for an 09 XT for $9995 + tax, which doesn't seem like a great deal. They wouldn't budge, but I really would like one...

Ah you were the one Tom was talking about. Sorry to hear about your Lightning, that sucks.

Anyway, Danbury tends to be a little higher priced, but their service is top notch and they will go out of the way for you. I just pulled the trigger on a 08 1125R today. I think I could of gotten it a few bucks cheaper elsewhere, but I wasn't really concerned.

Check with Liberty, New Roc, and Bergen County. They might be able to get you a better offer.

As for inventories, its hard to say.

Damn! He didn't mention it was the police edition, and called me back to let me know. It is basically the other Ulysses (X) with the hardbags. I want/need the XT since it is shorter and has the different, lighter wheels.

The X, XT, and XP are all the same length, use the same frame and swingarm and motor.

X and XP have the same tall suspension. XP has standard small side cases, but you can't get the topcase as it has the lights. The XP is also missing the hand guards and a few other bits for the same reason.

The XT has the shorter suspension and lighter wheels and the bigger side cases.

Don't forget the 08-up X and XP have different triple clamps and offset fork legs that allow more steering lock. They will turn tighter than an XT.

I would jump on the black XP. They are very rare. I didnt get quite as good of a deal as you are getting, but bought one on Monday. It has all the options that the XT has, but has higher amperage for electric farkles. Mine came with the top case, as the lights mount under it and on the front forks. If you want a pic of mine, let me know and I will post it.

I had a hell of a time finding an XT. Called the 12 closest dealerships to me, and only found one.

They were willing to work with me, so I picked it up the next day.

I'd say the supply of new XT's is dwindling.

I found a great deal on a red 09 xt finally, but I will have to have it shipped. I can't find one anywhere close, and the deal is so good even with shipping it back to NY that I will still save around $1500+ than if I went with danbury ct...unfortunately.

It really is crazy how quick all the bikes are selling out. I've contacted so many dealerships throughout NY and Colorado (I travel there frequently and would def have bought one there) and everyone says the same thing "if we had incentives like this for harley's, we would be in a lot better shape". Too bad the incentive is only because harley went a very unfortunate route.

dont worry about the decreased turning radius of the XT. I don't know why anyone complains about it. The left fork does seem to hit a stop sooner than I would expect, but I only notice it when I'm staring at the bike in the garage. I've cut a few sharp U-turns and some quick parking lot maneuvers and never needed to turn the forks to their limit.

The extra steering clearance is nice in tight spots like off road. Not necessary, but still good to have. : )

Would it be in poor form to say that I have a Black 08 Uly XT for sale in the classifieds with 5600 miles? I know it's not new per say... but pretty damn close...
