I got caught in a little bit of a rain shower on my ride home yesterday. After I got my bike back in the garage I wondered if there was anything on the bike that should be air blasted to dry it off. |

Not at all, just keep those bar ends clean. |

What? No. You'll drive any moisture into places it should not go. |

I was just thinking about one of those pressurized cans for cleaning computers, not compressed air. |

Air dry it on the line. It'll do both of you some good. A 35 mph wind, and the occasional gust, ought to work out just fine. |

after about 20k in the first year of ownership, my bike is covered in rust. headers, pipe, mirror stalks, various bits of hardware, heck even the little balancing clip on the fan. Other parts that don't rust are covered in oxidation.....so..... keep that in mind. |

I live 4 miles from a bay and 11 miles from the Pacific ocean. I ride all winter long even in major down pours and in almost 30K miles, I have not acquired any rust at all except the mirror stalks where they attach to the bars. She goes to bed wet often but alway in a well ventilated garage. I had a Sporty that was kept in one of those sheet metal sheds. It created so much condensation inside that the bike was almost completely corroded within two years. I think it took me a month of polishing to get the shine back and get it looking like new again before I sold it. Point is: I think the 'where' and 'how' the bike is parked is the main factor concerning rust & corrosion. |

LOL! Mine gets ridden in the rain whenever it rains. It does get stored in a heated garage on overnights. No rust or corrosion so far at 24K |

I just wipe mine down with a towel whenever I go ride in the bad weather. Then I keep it inside. No rust or any problems so far. |

Stored outside under a tarp until the snow and then heated storage. No problem so far. |
